I came across your request of finding the Ebel's gravesite, I live in Russell, KS. I'll be more than happy to go out and try to locate their graves and take photos. I can't get ahold of the office at the St. John Lutheran Church until Monday.

Do you know if John Able could have been born in Scotland and had a wife named Gertrude?? If so, I might have found a trail. he was 50 when he passed on so he would have been born about 1869.

Phil, I just wanted to say "thank you" for putting information in your memorial for Jimmie. I wish more people would do this instead of working for the "numbers game" of how many they can rack up instead of adding the links and vital info they had when they created the memorial. I always feel like I cheated the person I'm doing a memorial for if I don't search for information about the person. Keep up the great work! Jerry.. KC KS

|Marissa F.||Lydia and George Ballew|
We recently visited this cemetery to locate the graves of some of my husband's family members. Much of the cemetery is covered in a thick, forest-y overgrowth and nearly impossible to traverse. We found Lydia and George's gravestones in this overgrowth near the other graves we were looking for. There is one large (and extremely heavy) stone that has been knocked off its base that has both George and Lydia's names and dates on it. There is also another stone to the left of the base of the first, that has only Lydia's name and dates on it. To the left of Lydia's individual stone is another smaller stone for a James W. Ballew, a 9 yr old child, likely the son of Lydia and George. To clarify: someone has entered a memorial for James Ballew in this cemetery, but with incorrect information on it. I have entered another memorial for him, with the correct information on it regarding his dates and parentage. Other information: this is a re-interment cemetery; the graves here were disinterred from various sites in the Bluegrass Army Depot (which sits across the street from the cemetery). According to cemetery records, Lydia, George, and James's graves were located on the "Ramsey and Penoff place. 21 marked and 60 unmarked graves were moved to section G, lots 19-25" in this reinterment cemetery.
Hope you like the photos!

Mary is not related to me. The information on her memorial was retrieved from cemetery records. I believe the 'Lovely Lady' notation may be an inscription on her stone, although I have not seen it personally. I updated her memorial with other information I have. I'm sorry I can't help more, but if she is related to you I would be happy to transfer her memorial if you wish. Just let me know.

Thanks for your e-mail. Your many times great-grandmother, Mary Craven is buried in the small graveyard there where my many times great grandparents are buried- they were Jesse Pitman Lewis and Nancy Clarkson.
I have little information on those buried in the graveyard mentioned and to hear from a relative is wonderful! Email me when you get a chance and I'll be glad to share what I have on this line.
All the best.

Hey Phil--this is Janice Peterson Lincoln in Arizona. You responded to my husband's sister's entry for Mom and Dad. Thanks for the comments, actually you're pretty much up to date on our whereabouts. I called you from Hazel and Edward's house several years ago and we exchanged info which is probably the last contact we've made. Since then both E and H are gone, I talked briefly to cousin Wayne, he lives in Arizona also. I forwarded your comments to Loween, Rob and Jim so hopefully they will also contact you. Can we have an update on your sibs and their families? So good to hear from you although a bit unusual route--Later, Janice and Art
