Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am very interested in genealogy and am glad to help others gather precious family information. I live near El Camino Memorial Park (Sorrento Valley) in San Diego. It is a very large park, so please do provide location and plot information.

Some of the family names I am researching are Hitchcock, Markley (Merkle), Hebler, Graves, Roth, Carpenter, Hill and Julian.

Sorry you got dragged into this mess. I am contacting the Historical Societies in Hadley and Hatfield to try and get clarification on Richard's memorial. Hopefully it will satisfy Charlene. I have been a contributor at Find A Grave for over 5 years and almost all the contributors are very nice and helpful. I have only run into 2 that were unpleasant.
Best wishes, Dana

Here is my message to Dana on this mess of a memorial she created.

In my opinion you should take a good look at this memorial ....go it as if it were the first time....too much confusion and lack of facts. You are being disrespectful to make a memorial with so many if's and's and buts. Why don't you clean it up and do the best you can on it...or Dana....maybe just delete it and let a real family member make a nice memorial for him. You people who think youre doing a fine job sometime insult us...people who know what should be on the memorials. I will not apologize for my anger about this. You deserve a good hard kick in the behind for this one!!

And BZ...if you guys who take photos and then make memorials without knowing a thing about the person....fill it with junk and then think you also did a fine job....well...not so. I think you and Dana should take a step back and see how disrespectful that is.

RE: Richard Church (#103310449)
I have also have not tried a virtual cemetery. I am concentrating most of my efforts on attaching census records to my family tree at When I am done doing that my next project is going to be confirming documentation (cemetery records, obituaries, etc.) for just my direct ancestors. Richard Church is my 9th gr. grandfather, so hopefully I will be able to confirm his exact burial location from contacting Historical Societies in Massachusetts and Connecticut. If you contact them before me and find out anything please let me know.
Best wishes, Dana

I added the information to his memorial. I am not sure what I should do with his memorial - leave it in that cemetery or switch it to "Unknown". I am afraid if I switch it to unknown that someone else will just add him to this cemetery anyway.
Best wishes, Dana

Roths in Lacon
Bonnie, The pictures are up. If you need even more detail I'd probably have to "chalk" the stones. If you could give me you email I'll sent you the jpeg(s).

Regards, Dale
