|Kathryn Flahaut Sutton||Eli B Huneycutt|
I just finished reading the last will and testament for Eli B Huneycutt. It was quite informative. For any family members interested it can be found at Ancestry.com - North Carolina, Will and Probate Records, 1665-1998 Stanly > Wills, Vol 1-2, 1841-1907 pages 85-87.
I was hoping to find a connection to Eli Filmore Huneycutt that married Lydia Catharine Watts.

I am interested to know where you gathered the information for John Hartsell's children? It lists Leonard as a son. I'm trying to confirm if this is the same Leonard Hartsell that is in my line. Thanks!

You posted a picture of a memorial grave stone for William Brooks, Find-A-Grave Memorial #52939815. Is this stone located in the Brooks-Hill Cemetery, or, on the property where he actually died?
|K. Brown||Bio for John Hartsell, Sr.|
Hello! I'm interested to know where you got the bio info on John Hartsell, Sr., specifically, that his family moved from Pennsylvania to North Carolina when he was 4. I saw on a local census from 1786* that there was a John Hartsell living in Haycock, PA then. If you're right, then that's not my John Hartsell, Sr. Just trying to pin down all the facts. Thanks for helping in the search!

I am very interested in the Hartsell cemetery, and anything you might be able to tell me about (George?) Washington Nathaniel Hartsell, son of Solomon Hartsell. I believe he married Zina O'Neal, a 4th great aunt of mine, and had two children, Mary Elvina Hartsell (c. 1848) and Sarah Ann Hartsell. Per information I found, Solomon Hartsell was appointed guardian for these girls, daughters of his son Washington, in Feb. 1855. (Which means that Washington had died by then, but not necessarily Zina.) George W. "Hartwell" 30, Zina, 25, and Mary E., 2, appear in the 1850 census of Anson County, NC, near Kindred O'Neal (c.1785-1855), my 4th great grandfather. Kindred and his wife Culia Hayles (c.1790-1840s) were married in 1810 and had eleven children, two sons and nine daughters. I've got them all pinned down but one daughter, born circa 1820/25, who left home before the 1850 census. Zina Hartsell made many purchases at the estate sale after Kindred O'Neal died in 1855. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find Zina Hartsell and her children in the 1860 or 1870 census, and couldn't find Solomon in 1870 either. From what I found, the heirs of Washington Hartsell were mentioned in the estate settlement of Solomon Hartsell in 1872, so the girls must still have been alive then. I would be most appreciative of any information you could give me.

Hi. I am wondering how you know the OLD headstone that says "M 8 1818" is William Brooks I? That is all I see on the headstone. Just wondering. Also, since I live out-of-state in N.C., do you allow people to copy the headstone photos if we give you proper credit? Thanks for all you do for so many through Find A Grave. I appreciate it very much.

I'm interested in going to take some close up & scale photos of John Hartsell Sr & Solomon's graves. I'm a descendant of Martha Jane, Solomon's daughter. That JHSR tombstone was an AMAZING leap of insight. Can I have directions to the cemetery? Do I need permission to walk through that field?
Also, where within the cemetery is the JHSR stone? It looks like it'd be hard to find.
Do their wives have headstones? I see you've got some very specific dates for their deaths, but I didn't see their webpages- is "SA ST" Rosena Horlacher?
