I am one of the daughters of Albert Penny who was born in Linden,Cass Co. Texas. He died Feb. 11, 1980 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish LA. I was born Jan. 27, 1947 in Arcadia, LA. I was raised in an orphanage from 1951 until June 15, 1963. Did not get to meet too many of my relatives so I would love to have pictures of them if possible. My Mother's name is Sadie Lou Bingle from Darden, Bowie, TX. Her birthday is 3/27/1929 and she died 3/13/1951 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA. is buried in Wilson Cem. Grand Bayou, LA. I have three girls still alive and one son who died in 2007. His name is Odell Michael Crouch Jr. born 12/13/1979 in Shreveport. Caddo Parish, LA and died in San Jacinto, Riverside Co, CA 3/05/2007. We did not bury him he was cremated so we have his ashes with us. I know some of my relatives came from back east from NC,VA,SC, GA,AL, MS,OK,AK,and then to Texas where most of them died. I do not know if I have very many cousins left from all his brothers and sisters. I sure hope there are some still alive. I am very new at this so I need as much input as the days go by. I say you are never too old to start something new. Guess I am sort of the proof. Need to get my son's family tree done too before I leave this world behind. So here's looking towards a wonderful friendship and meeting some of my kin. My kin are mostly Pennys not counting the different last names for wives of the men. The other side of my family are the Bingles on my mother's side. My girls are Hebert and my son's is Crouch.

Ruby, thank you for all of your work in posting pictures of memorials that other people may be searching for. I have one question about Mary Texanna Surratt and hope you can help me. The Mary Surratt in my family was married three times and her last married name was Espey which is how I assumed her marker would read. Also, the dates for birth and death and parents names are different. Because of an unusual middle name, I wonder if we are talking about the same person. Thank you for your help. | | | Em

Hi Ruby,
Thanks for the additional information for Clyde and Lura Penny. I have entered the parent's links you provided, and the additional information regarding Willie Ida's last name. I noted on Clyde's memorial that it is possible that she married after John's death to a Lyles man, but it is more likely that Clyde's son Burnis, confused her name with his other grandmother's maiden name when giving the information for Clyde's death certificate.
My niece was Victoria Nicole "Tori" Penny, memorial #95831146. Clyde and Lura were Tori's great grandparents.
