Bio and Links
Bio Photo I do the German line of Spear/Spears/Speer/Speers of Peter Henry Speer/Spears that can be found in Odell's 1995 book "Pioneers of Old Frederick County VA." He and his brother Michael Christopher Spears came to this country about 1730. I am the family historian along with my cousin Mike Speers. We are members of the HFFA Heinrich Frey Family Association that was here by 1690 in the first section of Philadelphia that was Germantown PA.

RE: Christina Speers
Thank you so much for your information! Sadly, I do not manage this memorial, but she was my 6th Great Grandmother. I had the distinguished honor to visit Charleroi, and the borough of Speers (which was named after her father, I believe). The cemetery is placed high on a hill owned by the power company. The land is treacherous to engage, but this was formerly the land of the Frye family farm. I appreciate your input and have added her information to my ancestry file. THANKS!--Helen Barnes

I updated his vitals with information you sent as well as added his death record which indicates he was buried in Fayette City. I don't find a Monongahela Cemetery in Fayette City. If your cousin eventually finds him buried in another cemetery let me know & I'll delete the one in St. Auburn.

Pierroux family photo
Would like to know where you obtained the 1915 family portrait of the Pierroux family that is posted? Julia Pierroux married Eugene Rousseaux and they were my great aunt and uncle. Would like to know if you have any more photos you can share. I can be reached at

Thank you

I found the memorials for Charles Speers and corrected the spelling and linked them. I am not related and would love to transfer them if you are interested.

Nelsie Speers memorial
I have photographed all the graves in Mt Vernon and did not find one for Nelsie's husband. It must not be marked. Do you want me to transfer to 2 Speers I have to you?

Did the additions, but witheld info on husband. Dates do not seem to match up. Pekin Public Library lists a John Speers with a death date of 1931, but he is not listed in any of my cemetery books.

RE: Others on Speer Tombstone
Photos have been added for William, Anna & MacDonald Jr.
I can only assume Marguerite is still alive or remarried and buried elsewhere. The Union Cemetery records do not show her buried there.
