Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am the Contact Person for the "Burrowes and Safranek" family tree on ancestry.com -- feel free to check it out if you think we are related.

My paternal lines I am researching are my Czech relations: Safranek, Cuhel, Hasek, Halva, and Hajek/Hajkova.They lived in Olesnice, Moravia, Podebrady, Bohemia and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
My famous ancestors are Frantisek Cuhel and Frank Joseph Cuhel. The former was an economist in Czechoslovakia and Vienna and the latter was a 1928 Olympic medalist and World War II correspondent.

My maternal lines are of Anglo-Saxon origins/French Huguenot/English: Burrowes, Fitch, Gates, Nusz, Holt, Blodgett,
Reeder and Gano. My ancestor Judge George Bunce Holt was an early founder of Dayton, OH.

Thank you for looking at my site.

RE: Holt Family of Norfolk, CT Litchfield County
If they are not already entered (check by name in the county) then by all means enter them. You own it in the sense that you can make additions and changes. Anyone can add photos to anyone elses entries.

Esther M. Burrowes (oops forgot to note the memorial before starting this post). She is connected to Elizabeth and Stephen

RE: transferring memorials
That works.

If you are interested - you can go to http://www.abmc.gov/services/index.php and there is a form that you can fill out and receive a photo your service man's grave marker and cemetery litho. No charge.

Have a good day.

RE: James L Gates
I have corrected the family relationship of James Gates, # 66521108, and Samuel Gates, # 66731103, as you suggested.

RE: transferring memorials
I am sorry - I just don't remember how my cousins memorial was transferred to me. I know what you usually do - click on orgininal submitter CWGC/ABMC and a page comes up so that you can ask for a transfer.

You might try one of the Find A Grave discussion forums (listed on left side of screen).

If I come up with anything I will send it to you.

Good luck.

RE: Thank you so much!
Hi,
You are welcome. I have to agree, I am amazed at the stones and the art work involved on some of the stones. Some of the monuments in Woodland are huge and I have tried to image how they were erected as well as the care it too to get them there and those who did the carvings on them.

Glad I could help.

RE: Anna Hasek and Jan Safranek
Hey there! I got in touch with him yesterday to introduce myself and compare notes. He is wonderful, and the depth of his research is impressive. You are right--he does have the info for *my* Safraneks, looking forward to spending time poring over the details about how everyone is connected. You are both way ahead of me in your research, will keep an eye out for something new to share with you both.

Anna Hasek and Jan Safranek
Wow! Your photographs are wonderful! You've done a lot of work of your memorial pages--these are a great resource for anyone looking for Safraneks, so thanks!

I hope you won't be dissappointed when I tell you that I don't know Anna Hasek Safranek (or at least I'm not sure yet if I do). I have only just begun to research the Safraneks on my mom's side of the family, and when I saw your memorial for her with dates unknown, I wondered who she was.

My maternal great-great grandmother was Mary Ann Safranek Anthony (61101019) and I am slowly going through the records on ancestry.com, trying to figure out who is who. There are lots of Annas, Marys and Josefs, but I want to be careful about it, and to be sure that I am following the right line.

I bet we are related--hope so!--and will keep you posted.
