I was raised in Gillingham Kent England and immigrated to the USA in 1957. My mother was from Durham, England and was ophaned by age eight and raised by another family. She tried to find her family but back then there was no internet so had no luck. Find A Grave has been the most helpful to me and I find that in the USA people are so willing to volenteer to take photo's of the gravestones and I do not have any trouble getting a photo's of my husbands family gravestones.
I have had no luck at all with the English gravestones. I would love to have a volenteer at Holy Trinity church in Murton Colliery, Durham, England which is where my mother's family are buried. It would be so nice to see my Grandmother's gravestone.
