|Karyn Buckner Garvin||RE: Abba Cemetery|
Hi, I'm not an Admin; I like to send in corrections when I see they need to be done. What I did was to send in multiple emails to the edit@findagrave dot com email address and listed what needed to be merged. They will take three merge pairs at a time so it was a lot of emails. I also requested the cemeteries be merged and had a descriptive written on the cemetery page about Abba being in Ben Hill, not Irwin. It won't completely keep someone from putting another Abba in Irwin but I hope it will help.
Thanks, let me know if you see anything else in that cemetery that needs work.

The one in Irwin County has been merged into the correct one in Ben Hill County, and all duplicate memorials have been merged as well. Let's hope no one else puts it back into Irwin County at a later date.

I finished my other project and will start looking at the Abba problem this weekend. Thanks for your patience :)

I can work with you to get the Abba in Irwin County deleted; what will happen is the cemeteries will be merged but then the double entries will have to be done one at a time by submitting them to Edit. Since yours are in the right county, yours should take precedence as being in the correct cemetery first, but sometimes the merging administrator doesn't always do it as requested. Then the cemetery description has to be updated to indicate that the cemetery is right on the Ben Hill - Irwin County lines; also we have to ensure the name of the cemetery on the site reflects what is on the sign (Is it Abba Cemetery or is is Abba Baptist Church Cemetery?).
Let me know. Thanks, Karyn

Abba Church Cemetery is in Ben Hill Co. Ga.
There is no abba Church cemetery in Irwin Co. Ga.
Any reference to abba cemetery in Irwin Co. is in error.

Yes Lorie, it's frustrating to deal with someone who is not cooperative, regardless of who it is. When this happens I stop wasting my time. I just submit the info to Find A Grave and let them deal with it. They can do things that you and I cannot.
I feel that our time is better spent cultivating mutually pleasant relationships with others rather than fighting with people who don't want to play nice. It is likely that they probably deal with their personal relationships in the same manner. I suspect they are sad and lonely people. :)

I hope you can help figure this out. I have been doing some memorials from 2003-2006 and I keep running across duplicates in Abba Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin Co., GA and Abba Cemetery in Ben Hill Co., GA. Barta has made some that you later made and some other folks have too. I have seen a few of them in the obits that say Ben Hill Co. so they should not be in Irwin. Did Abba used to be in Irwin Co. or vise versa? Some of the memorials even have headstone photos on them in Irwin Co. Weird, huh?
Thanks for any info you might have. I don't live there so I can't check on it physically.
