Bio and Links
Bio Photo Grandfather. Retired public servant. Social activist and amateur historian....

Born in United States in 1951. Graduated from US Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland in 1975 with a commission as a 2ndLt, USMC.

Retired from Marines (as a 1stLt, for permanent service-connected physical disabilities) after serving overseas as a USMC Field Artillery officer.

After leaving the service I went to visit relatives in Switzerland, the country my paternal grandfather was from. Studied nursing there and met a girl (who became my wife).
Have resided in Switzerland since 1981 where I eventually retired from nursing and public service.

In 2011 I ran for a seat in the lower house of Switzerland's bicameral Federal Parliament (Nationalrat/Conseil National), representing the canton (state) of Valais. Defeated in the election - I now enjoy a variety of interests and activities.

Grand Army of the Republic
RE: Major Lucien Lecompte Dawson USMC
Hello Brian,

I have transferred Major Dawson's Findagrave memorial. Please enjoy updating it and honoring his memory. My father SSgt. William A. Jensen was a Marine. He was a combat veteran with the 1st Marines, 11th Regiment during the Korean War. He passed away near 7 years ago. I look for interesting Marine Corps graves in memory of my Dad. My main interest is the Civil War.

A couple of war photos of my Dad appear in David Douglas Duncan's book titled "This is War". Click the link below to see one of them. Dad is the Marine at the top of the photo helping the wounded Marine. Sure do miss my old man.

Best regards,

Karl Jensen

Your Bryant Ancestor
Hello! I am researching my BRyant line extensively. Ellender K. Bryant (1858-1918), who married Allen Pickett (1856-1923) is a sister to my grat grandfather Joseph Bryant!Would you have any information, pictures, etc. about Allen and Ellender...especially where they are buried? I have photos of four of Ellender's siblings and know where they are buried as well. But I cannot locate the cemetery listed on Ellnder's death certificate..."Parsons Cemetery..." which I assume is somewhere around Tracy City in Grundy County. I would be very happy to correspond with you more on this subject! Please e-mail me directly at gary.eldridge56@yahoo.com Thank you!!

Gladden
Brian, things look good on the Robert Glidden memorial. Thanks for making the additions so quickly. I have sent suggestions to link family members together so he should be connected to others soon.
