I began my genealogy researching after my father mentioned that he wanted to know what happened to one of his aunts on his father's side. He didn't know his father since he passed away in 1935 just after he was born. He didn't know a thing about his grandparents on his father's side either, so my search began. I wanted to locate information, any information that I could gather for him.
After I received marriage and death certificates for some of the relatives, names started fitting into place. I found it interesting and intriguing. The journey has taken so far 3 years and I still have a long way to go.
I am now searching for locations of graves/headstones for many of my relatives so that I can let my father know where they are resting.
I am hoping that this site can help me find the relatives long lost. Maybe some of the family headstones that I add can help others in their search, as well.
Family names include: Thompson, East, Roope, Roop, Rupe, Hudson, Wolfe, Loftis, Lewis, Wilbourne, Wilburn, Wilborn, Nance, White, Bond, and many others.
I am having difficulty in locating graves for many relatives. I know where they passed away but where they are resting is a mystery. Maybe some day they will no longer be mysteries. | |

FOR THE BOND FAMILY ARE: RACHEL BOND FROM SOUTH CAROLINA AND RELATED THRU OUR PUTMAN FAMILY. MY STEP -GRANDFATHER WAS "JOSEPH MARTIN PUTMAN". YOU CAN GOOGLE FOR HIM ON THE "NET" AND BILL PUTMAN HAS A LOT OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE. MANY PUTMAN FAMILIES SETTLED IN BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS AND NEARBY MISSOURI. ALSO BOND FAMILY RELATED TO THE GRAMMER/KINDLEY/ROBBINS FAMILY OF BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS.
FOR THE LOFTIS FAMILY: LOTS OF LOFTIS FAMILY IN JACKSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE AND RELATED THRU OUR CHAFFIN FAMILY. ALSO MANY RELATED TO THE "GENTRY" FAMILY.

Thanks for obit which I have added to her memorial. I also added the following:
PLEASE NOTE THE OBITUARY IS INCORRECT AS ARE MANY FOR THE MT. TABOR AREA. THEREFORE, I PERSONALLY WALKED AND PHOTOGRAPHED EVERY GRAVE AT DAVIS AND CALFEE CEMETERIES, WHICH ARE NEAR MT. TABOR CEMETERY.
I don't know why but even death certs have just stated Mt Tabor (the area near Beckley) when there are 3 cemeteries near each other. It has been a nightmare straightening them out. For Mt Tabor cemetery I would only trust Penny who spends many hours verifying all graves there. I have done the same for Davis and Calfee. Just haven't had time to post all the grave photos. Other than Penny and myself- watch out! Too many people are find-a-document members! Appreciate your diligence. | | | Janet LaMotte

John Anderson Griffin was my 3rd gr-grandfather. Dorothy Ann Elizabeth Hudson, daughter of Elias Franklin Hudson, was my 2nd gr-grandmother. So we must be cousins somewhere in the bunch. I added the Hudson Family Cemetery a few years back when a clean up was being done. Unfortunately, there are very few stones with names in the cemetery. | | | Anonymous
