My name is Donna Mosher. Sallie Beasley (#47109639) is part of my family and I was wondering if you might have some more family info on her. I am really trying to trace back the Thompson family tree and she is his half sister. Please contact me asap and let me know if you can help. Thanks Donna Mosher (706)409-2731 or email me at

Mary Erwin/Ervin more
Confusion. Sorry I just checked back. It's what comes with trying to do anything by memory. Mary and John Erwin's son was Richard Walker, not James. By happy coincidence I do have a photo of Richard Walker Ervin. I'm going to try to send it to you asap.

Mary Erwin/Ervin
Hi Linda!
I understand your confusion over the Erwin/Ervin surname. There are over 200 variations in the spelling of the surname. Drives you crazy when the same person uses different spellings during their own lifetimes. The Mary (Casebolt) Erwin pictured would be the mother of your James Walker Ervin. There is a great deal of published information on Mary's Casebolt family and their forebears but almost nothing on her husband John's family. I am a gg-grandson of theirs through their eldest son George, his eldest son Nester and his eldest daughter Daisy. Mary's picture was found among some belongings of my mother's older brother after his death in 1975. Luckily, my grandmother had labeled the envelope it was in or we wouldn't have known. My grandfather, Nester, had walked to Missouri when he was about 17 (ca. 1883) after his grandfather's death and helped Mary for some years. If you have questions, just let me know.

Happens to all of us - I had inserted the complete date and place of death on his memorial from his obituary. It also has a different place of death than you submitted.

Della Akerman
Hi, and thank you for the additional info. I'd love to add all of Della's names but Find A Grave just does not have the ability to add the additional married name in the searchable name fields. Yes, like some, I could cram two names in the same field, BUT if you do that, the record is no longer searchable in a way that it can be found accurately. To me that's a disservice to her, so I added your info in the Bio section. I feel it's important for others to be able to find her. Thank you for helping to complete the memorials.

The newspaper article dated September 19 1915 states he passed away on Tuesday in Vienna, Virginia. I don't see how he could have died in May and in Georgetown as per your message:

Ok. I think I have it corrected. If you would please take a look at it and see if you see something else I would appreciate it.

Thanks for catching my error.

Thank you, Linda, for the input on Mary's marriage date. I have updated her and Casey's Memorials accordingly. Best Regards, John
