|Love to do memorials. ..if anything is found with my public name on it that is questionable, please post message. and I will correct or remove. I just would like for anyone doing their family history to find it easier..I want to remember our families and also let others know I am thinking about their families. All were loved by someone..|

Thank you for transferring my aunt's memorial to me. Helen was the daughter of Albert and Lucy Brown Hacker. She was the wife of Arvin Bailey. She was my mother's sister. Arvin is my father's half-brother. You asked about Arvin's parents. Arvin is living and has remarried. His parents are Shomer Watson and Evelyn Guthrie Bailey. They are buried in Dunn Cemetery in London. - Susan

Thanks for the response! That confirms what the aunts told me. I think I have the first five generations down now, although I can't find any proof of this "Amanda McDaniel" who was supposedly a Cherokee that married William Ritchie (father to Zavan). Do you have any other information about her? What one of the aunts said is that she remarried several times after she split with William (and he went on to marry another woman). The story is that they had Zavan and two girls, that Amanda took the two girls and left Zavan with William, and then he put Zavan with the Grigsbys (I have a census document showing Zavan living with the Grigsbys, his cousins). For a long time I thought another Ritchie was his father, but the family says it was William, when he was with Amanda. Zavan's death certificate says "mother unknown" and does list William as the father.
Again, thanks so very much for your help "cousin!" :)
|Mary Moss Kniskern||RE: nelson|
We are cousins. My grandfather's mother was Georgia Ann, called Anna or Annie by her husband's family. She married John Creech, and bore him three sons- John, Charles Nelson, and Robert Morris. She died when Robert (my grandfather) was four months old (Jan 1916, I believe)- of "Bright's Disease". We're looking for her grave. Do you know if she is buried there in the Nelson Cemetery? Robert was born in East Bernstadt.
My grandfather knew where she was buried, but he died almost thirty years ago. My mother would like to visit her grandmother's grave, hence the reason for my search.
We know she is NOT buried with her husband. He lived until 1928, remarried and had two daughters who still live in Lexington. John and his second wife, Lily, as well as my grandfather, are buried in the Richmond cemetery.
Thanks for your help!

I've noticed you made family relationship connections on several of the memorial pages for several of the people buried in the Nelson Cemetery (Laurel Co., KY). Are you working on these lines?
My grandfather's mother was Anna/Annie (maybe Georgiana?) Nelson Creech, daughter of Orval P. Nelson. She died just a few months after my grandfather was born, and I'm trying to locate her grave for my mother.
Do you have any other information on the family?
Are you in Kentucky? We'll be coming for a visit next month.
Thanks for any suggestions you might be able to give!
