My future mother-in-law introduced me to genealogy about December 1961 and I have been hooked ever since. Where I live in northern Indiana the acid rain is rapidly disolving the inscriptions on the old limestone tombstones. In 1963 when I was discharged from the army I visited the family cemetery and walked down a row of stones and wrote down the inscriptions, but Today you can hardly read them. I enjoy finding and recording stones that are weathered or broken. For many of the young children this is the only record that they existed. I am now retired, so I have time. If I can be of help, please write or call.

 | George & Margaret Baughman Hi Jim,
I sent you an email to the jabaugh7228 account a few weeks ago but I haven't heard from you, so I thought I'd try your Find a Grave page. I'm looking for sources for some of the info on George and Margaret's page. Thanks!

 | Oak HIll - Gary Hi Jim! Thank you so very much for the photo of my great-grandmothers headstone located in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Gary Indiana. It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife at the LC Public Library. People like you and your wife don't get enough thank-you's for all the hard work you do. Much appreciated here! | Re: I. Arthur Oliver Jim, Thanks so much for the transfer, it is appreciated more than you know! I also sent one to you for wife, Mabel. If you wouldn't mind transfering her memorial to me as well, I would be so greatful. I will take good care of both of them...be assured! Happy New Year to you and yours...Debbie | | | AMB
 | Thanks! Jim, Thank you for the find of that Hufford gravestone at Wagoner Cemetery. Much appreciated. I had the info that the children existed from the 1909 HUFFORD FAMILY HISTORY. However, the book simply listed them as children of that couple and dead by the time the book came out (1909). Except for the gravestone that you found, there is no other info on those two children. They died between censuses. AliceAdded by AMB on Oct 12, 2012 9:35 AM | | | Shawn Ott

 | Jacob M Emerson in Apple Creek Jim,
I was excited to see this memorial for Jacob M Emerson. He was born in 1802 in Maryland. He was married to Elizabeth 'Lib' Merriman 1805 1877. As far as my research shows, Elizabeth should also be there. Did you see the stones or get the ifo from another source? I am a Merriman descendant and have been doing research for some time. I believe all of the Emersons are related that you listed. I will get back to you with the details. Jacob and Elizabeths children were as follows:
Sarah Emerson 1826-1918 *buried apple creek John Pretzman Emerson 1827-1901 *buried apple creek William B "Milton" Emerson 1830-1896 *bur in Whitley Indiana * Elizabeth Emerson 1836 Harriet S Emerson 1839-1870 m.Solomon Franks Mary Ellen Emerson 1840-1928 unmarried Amanda B Emerson 1842-? m. Isaac Jameison
If Jacob is not a relative I would love to have his transfer so I can add this info.
PS I previously sent you this info via the edit with no response.
