This is a photo of my ggg grandmothers grave.|
I have never seen the grave. I really appreciate the person who took the photo.
Thanks a lot.
It is my wish that I have entered someone you are looking for. If I have entered any one related to you and they are not related to me - I will be happy to transfer. My goal is not to see how many memorial I can create, but to help you find your love ones . I don't mean to offend anybody, the memorials are made so love ones can find their relatives. If I have entered anything incorrectly, I will be glad to correct.
Any and all information or pictures, I have uploaded, are meant for sharing. Family memories were meant to be passed on. I just don't understand anyone that thinks different. I think if you don't want to share, than don't put them on a public site.
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Daphene Willoughby||Martha J Bates Oakley|
Martha Jane Bates Oakley's parents were:
William Bates born 1819; died 1899 in Smith Co, TN
Cyntha (Maiden Name Unknown); born 1816 and died 1894 in TN (probably Smith Co, TN.
William and Cyntha Bates Oakley's graves are not marked as far as I have know.
So if you could add a note to her memorial I would appreciate it
Thank you for all you do for Find a Grave. It is appreciated

Wondering if U know Tommy's sister, Virginia Ann Poston? Tommy and I were cousins. I would like to email Virginia and find out if she has any pics of her mother's mother (Martha Jetton Payne) and father (Henry Clay Payne).

10/17/1867 I'm so sorry, I gave you the wrong marriage date for Sallie and Jess. This is the correct one.

If you are not related to Sarah Jane ( nickname) Sallie maiden name Houston, could you please transfer her to me so I can link some of the McConnell's together. I am the 3rd greatgranddaughter of Rebecca McConnell and Janes Ginn. Sarah was married to EJ (Eli Jefferson McConnell) buried in the same cemetery. I have already sent the other contributor his information. SAarah nand Jess were md. 8/29/1872.

Do you happen to know if there is a cemetery association or present owner of Newlin cemetery that might keep internment records and if there is a way to contact them?

Hello, I noticed the portrait photo of them that you placed on their memorial. Are you related? If so, I would be happy to transfer their memorials to you. They were just given to me by the original contributor when I sent corrections. I am not blood-related to them; my gg-aunt Enna Provence married their son Joe.
Let me know! :)

Betty Norene Cobe Jones wife of Samuel Nathan Levi Jones. Your memorial was created first. However, Memorial #127171189 was created later with gravestone photographs. I know there are two memorials, but you may want to contact the other Find A Grave member and combine your memorials.

Thanks so much for the transfers
