RE: Daniel & Margaret Rhodes
Lori,

If you would like, please email me at my email address rather than us communicating through findagrave. I would like to ask you about some other surnames, but I know the people are living. We are messaging publicly. I am very careful not to broadcast information about living people.

If you are looking for additional Blair or Huntiingdon Co. information, I may be able to help you. I now live in the vicinity.

Have you researched if the Rhodes in Henderson Township are relatives?

Lori.
I see on Edward Shade's Deed he was a resident of Altoona when he purchased the farm from Lewis Seidle.(1888)
Lewis Seidel purchased the property from John & Roseanna Rhodes. He only owned it about 3 years before he sold it.

Do you connect with John & Roseanna?

Wow! It is a small world!

Please tell me what you know! Does any of this make a connection with your family:

My GGGrandfather Edward P. Shade purchased a farm in Henderson Township in 1888. He was born & raised in Wayne Township Mifflin Co. The Pomroy Map of Henderson Township shows there were several Rhodes families that were neighbors. Do you know where Daniel & Margaret lived?
Edward sold his farm to his son, my Great Grandfather. (1919)
Edward is found on Altoona/Juanita tax lists working as a cabinet maker. (1905) His wife later moved to Altoona. (1920 census) She owned a boarding house (1930) on Lexington Ave. in Altoona near the hospital when she died. (1933)I find them living separately on census records.

I am curious about this. I also found a birth record at the Huntingdon Co Court House that one of their sons was born in Altoona. I have been curious about the Altoona connection when they lived outside of Huntingdon and wondering if there were relatives or friends that I could trace to find clues as to who Mary Emma Gonder Shade's parents were. I find her as a child on the 1870 census as a "ward".

Did your Rhodes family also relocate from the Huntingdon area to Altoona also?

Thanks , Teresa

Daniel & Margaret Rhodes
I transferred Daniel Rhodes. You didn't request his wife's information. Even if you don't descend from her if she was a second wife, I transferred it to you because it is on the marker.
Glad to help!

Lori,

I transfered the memorial to you. However, I dont live close to that cemetery. So therefore I will not be able to get a pic for you. I just happened to be in the area one time

I would suggest you do a photo request and maybe someone who lives close by can get it for you.

Thanks,
Gina

I have transferred Danny Ray Robinson and Claude Hinson to your care. I could not locate a Anna Cartee.

Welcome to Find-A-Grave! I regret that I did not have the privilege of knowing your brother. I was at the cemetery taking a photo request for another Find A Grave member and I usually take other pictures while I am there. I would be happy to transfer his memorial to you, if you would like it. The only way to link him to his grandmother is to add HTML to the biography section. I'd be happy to send you the code to this; it's really easy. Again, welcome to Find-A-Grave and let me know if you would like his memorial; I'm always happy to transfer!
