I have recently gotten interested in geneology, and am working with my mother and grandfather to transcribe their works onto ancestry.com.|
My basic research is in Lott, Pettus, and Pate, though there are many branches and many, many names that I have drifted into.

Hi Robert, just wondering if the Pates buried here in the Pearsall Cem were part of your family.
Have a blessed Sunday.

I live about 5 miles from this cemetery and would like to help in taking pictures of this cemetery. Do you know which parts have been taken? Is there a plot map of this cemetery? Where should I start?
Deanna Oakman Solomon
Thank you very much for the transfer.

Mr. Pate, thank you so much for your prompt response. It must have been your grandmother that I spoke with in Goliad because she was approaching a century in age and so was her husband. She was the sweetest and kindest person.
Incidentally, do you have a sister by the name of Charlene who worked for a heart specialist in Round Rock, Texas? My husband and I were patients at the clinic and I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that she was related to the Pettus-Lott family as well. She has since moved away from this area but I remember her fondly because she was beautiful and so kind.

At the time of my grandmother's death, my Cavazos grandparents lived and worked on a ranch in Riverdale, Texas, owned by either the Pettus or Lott family. Either the Pettus or Lott family, or both, gave my grandparents several grave spaces and my grandmother and her baby are buried in one space. Several of my relatives received spaces and are buried there as well. I knew that the cemetery was divided by a fence but it was not until recently that I found out that the divided sections had separate names. My father, before his death, always referred to his mother's burial as being in the Pettus-Lott Cemetery, also known as San Jacinto Cemetery. I received permission from a Mrs. Lott in Goliad to place a marker on my grandmother's grave but she was on in years and I did not ask questions about whether or not she remembered my grandparents. I would be so grateful if I could find out who the family was (Pettus or Lott) in Riverdale that my grandparents worked for. Some of my relatives are buried in the Charco Cemetery in Pettus, which leads me to believe that the Pettus-Lott families are somehow related. According to my dad, they were a very kindly family. Thank you.

I changed his birth year on the memorial and added your note of explanation.
Thanks for your work,
