I have spent the last 10 years documenting cemeteries in the Beallsville/Scenery Hill/ Centerville area of Washington Co., PA - specifically Beallsville Cemetery and several Hill family cemeteries. Most of the photos I've taken can be located at www.beallsvillecemetery.org along with scanned images of interment records, lot owner books, plotmaps, obituaries, photos, for Beallsville Cemetery. There are 8000+ burials in the cemetery so I continue to build and add to the website. I have been adding memorials to this site for Beallsville cemetery, using a combination of interment records and tombstone inscriptions. I've noticed that some of the dates that are listed in the interment listings as death dates are actually burial dates and may be off by a day or two. For burials that have no associated tombstone, I can only list what is in the cemetery records. If you have any corrections for the death dates or other related information, I'm happy to hear from you so I can correct the cemetery website. | |

 | RE: Denbo/Denbow Family Thanks so much for responding! Yes, I was referring to the Taylor Cemetery. I actually believe the two plots for Denbo(w) would correctly be right where they appear in your list, for Nancy Woodfill/Woodfield Denbow is the sister of the Woodfield people buried by her. So one could give a lot of credence to the list from which you got the information. What can you tell me about the 1930s list -- is it one of the WPA cemetery inscription lists? Was that list copied from stones or from a list of burial plots? It is quite odd that a person on our Denbow Roots website told me she's been to this cemetery, and seen Denbo stones. I would guess she is not remembering correctly. You mentioned not being finished with this cemetery? Again, I sincerely thank you for all your work for the benefit of others! | | | Florence Denbow
 | Denbo/Denbow Family First, thank you most sincerely for contributing this material so that those of us far away have a chance to find information on our families. I was told there were "lots" of Denbo(w) stones at this cemetery, but it appears there are two? I know who these people are but want to ask a question about the stones. Are they contemporary with the period of death? Were they added -- perhaps in the 1910 to 1930 period? It makes a huge difference, because there was a fraud during the latter period, and I am making an attempt to put together an accurate history on this family. Again, thank you! | | | Tom Nelson

 | Buckingham Cemetary I just wanted to let you know I am happy there are people like you who make doing genealogy so much easier, I would like to post my great great grandmother's obituary but not sure how to do. It is for Henry H. and Nancy A. Bane. If you could please let me know how to do so I would appreciate this. Also I copied her obituary in my picture file so I don't know if I have to copy it word for word or if there is a way to just download it. Again Thank you so much Debby for working so hard doing such a wonderful job. I admire you so much. I love genealogy and would love to do what you do, so any suggestions feel free to throw them my way as well. | | | | [View all messages...] |
