Bio Photo Greetings to you!
My interest in Find A Grave comes from studying my Chastain history including the obvious, the Chastain genealogy. My Dad was CPL John Herbert Chastain, WWII service in the 31st Tank Battalion of the Seventh Armored Division. In his honor and memory I am a member of the Seventh Armored Division Association and the Pierre Chastain Family Association.

My North American forefather was Pierre Chastain1 born 1660 in France (note designation Chastain1). Pierre was a Huguenot, a member of the Protestant Reformed Church of France led by French Calvinists inspired by the writings of John Calvin. Pierre was one of many Huguenots emigrating from France in the late 17th century to escape Catholic religious persecution. He escaped with his wife and 4 children first to Switzerland then to England before settling in the Manakintown Virginia Colony in America, April 1700. He was a medical doctor, a civic leader, and a farmer, and he was one of the original 12 vestrymen of the Manakintown Anglican Church.

Thus I, Jerry Chastain10, am the second son of John Herbert Chastain9 and Virginia Elrod. My father, John Herbert, was a baby triplet and son of Thomas Arnton8 and Cora Vista Cross; Joseph B.7 & Amanda Bunch; William Jefferson6; Obediah5, Abraham4, James3, Pierre Jr.2, and Pierre1.
