Bio Photo Hello,
My name is Joe Chrisman, I have been the Cemetery Sexton for the City of Winfield for 19 years and a genealogy buff for over 30 years.

I would be glad to transfer any memorial I have added, as long as the person is not related to me.

My Chrisman line started in Virginia, moving into Kentucky and arriving in Kansas in 1884. My 6th Great Grandfather Jacob Chrisman and 7th Great Grandfather Jost Hite, were the focus on the television series "Who Do You Think You Are?", Tim McGraw episode. What a thrill it was to see my family genealogy on TV!

I am a amature Civil War researcher and manage the Facebook page "Civil War Veterans Buried in Winfield Kansas Cemeteries". Please check it out and "Like" the page as well.

I also interested in "Co. H, 1st Kentucky Cavalry" history. My GG Grandfather Isaac "Ike" Chrisman was wounded 19 January, 1862 at the Battle of Mill Springs. Some say it was Ike Chrisman that fired the fatal shot that killed General Felix Kirk Zollicoffer. Documentation of this can be found in "A Boys Story of the Battle of Fishing Creek Kentucky" by John Worth Simpson.

RE: Rhonda Kay McAllister
My wife and I were visiting her relatives graves and I had a list of photo requests. We live in the area and have a hobby of looking thru cemeteries.

RE: Rebecca Ann Green Foote
Hi Joe. Thanks for finding both of the burial locations. I saw that you made a memorial for a TJ Green but I did not see a date of death so I was not sure if by chance when you were reading the records for the plots that the L might have looked like a T. I know I have a heck of a time transcribing handwritten records from that time. I think the William Green you found might be Rebecca and Leland's son. I was hoping maybe you could help point me in the right direction of who to contact to get records for those three burials? Thanks again for your help!

Rebecca Ann Green Foote
Thanks so much for looking up the burial site for Rebecca. Her husband passed many years before her. His name was Leland Jackson Green and he was born around 1848 and died Dec 28, 1903. I was hoping you could find his burial site as well since I don't know where he was buried. I do believe he died in Winfield. Thanks again for helping me with my research!
