|Sue Pittman McPeak||Emma June Howell Pittman Stone|
Thank-you so much for the photo of my Great Grandmothers headstone posted on her Memorial in November of this year. I was quite surprised to see it there as I had no idea that it even existed in the Howell Family Cemetery. I am wondering if you received a request or if perhaps you are photographing this cemetery for FAGrave.
I do have relatives that have posted other headstones from the Howell Family Cemetery, but none have found Emma June Howell Pittman's before. If by some coincidence you are related to her as well, I would like to share her family history with you. Her story is quite interesting, but her early death has left many questions about her and her children that remained in Georgia when her husband GW Pittman left shortly after her death for Texas taking six of their children with him. One of the sons was my grandfather.
If you have any information about her or her children that are buried in the Howell Family Cememtery, I would be ever so grateful to hear from you.
Thanks so much,
Sue Pittman McPeak
Thank you for trying to find the Howell grave. I made a note on his memorial that the grave could not be found. Thanks for trying!

|Debi Burrow||RE: John R Foster|
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond; but I haven't been on FindAGrave for quite some time now. I only signed on to address a friend's question and just happened to look at my profile page. I found your message there; and I'm just now seeing it.
As far as the John R Foster that's listed on my page, he apparently died as an infant. So I don't see how it could be the same person if I looked at the right page. It was a bit confusing though from your information; so I may have looked at the wrong one. You said you were investigating Gibson County, TN and that the person to whom you were referring was buried in Oakwood Cemetery; but the John R Foster I found in Gibson County, TN is buried in Oakland, not Oakwood. However there ***is*** a John R Foster buried in Oakwood Cemetery in North Carolina. I just don't think that's the one to which you refer since it's not Tennessee. The page I found on the guy in TN is here:
His DOB/DOD was 1862-1920. The DOB/DOD on the John R Foster I had on my page as the son of Beverly and Eliza is 1863-1864. So I doubt that they're the same person. I'm not an expert on this line of my family. In fact I've gotten most of my information from a distant cousin, Gary Lee Foster. You can find his page here:
You can also try contacting another distant cousin, Rick Clark, who I met here on FB. His page is here:
Rick is also on Ancestry.com and has his line posted there. I don't know what, if anything, he's found on John R Foster though. You would have to ask him. I hope that's given you a couple of leads to continue your search. If you do find the dates I have on my pages to be incorrect and your John R Foster is actually the son of Beverly and Eliza, please let me know.
Thanks and may your quest be blessed!!

Hi Cheryl, and thanks for the email. I looked again and you're right the correct date of death is May 2. I changed the memorial. Thanks again.
