Bio and Links
Bio Photo I take great pride in my family and ancestors. Family was always very important when I was growing up. We gathered together each Sunday at Grandpa and Grandma's and for reunions in the summer. My family and I visit the graves of each of our departed family members each Memorial Day. My wife has gotten heavily into genealogy and and has put together a family tree for both sides of my family. I am learning a lot about my ancestors that I did not know before.

Francis R. Read
Regarding your memorial for Francis R. Read. We are preparing a DAR application and nee proof of the headstone of Francis R. Read date of birth and where he was born, and death date and where he died.

We hope you have some type of proof for the dates and places for Francis R. Read because we need proof of these places. We have the marr. bond of this Francis R. Reads son Nathan Read who marr. our lines wife, Arah Hall Read. She is mentioned on the marr. bond as giving concent for Nathan to marry. We would be glad to share this info with you.

Any information would be helpful..Do you think it is possible to get a photo of the headstone you describe?

Thanks for any help you can supply, Connie Forrest

You are very welcome Roger - I too know what its like to lose loved ones.. my grandparents were murdered in 1997 by my mother's ex fiance, it's never an easy thing to deal with. Take care :)

Peter Erick Peterson
Hi Roger, My son Adam sent me Peter's picture on facebook and asked me if I knew who he was and that we shared the same birthday. I took the picture out to Mom's and we went through pictures and could not find one of Peter. She has so many old pictures. You and Sharon should come down sometime to go through them with us. Jason, Karla's son, has been doing genealogy also. I don't know what he has compiled yet, but I hope to talk to him about it. I know Mike, Janann's son, has also done some genealogy, but I think it has been more about the Witmer family (Jerry's family. If you think there is any time for you to come to mom's, I know she would love to see you again. She will be 92 on February 24. I am glad to find this site. I am on facebook if you want to contact me.

Burkhart/Davidson connection
Dear Roger, I am sorry I am not related to Powell Burkhart, but I am related to you in many ways, I am sure. My gt.gt.gt.grandfather was John Burkhart, whose father, George Peter came over from Germany in 1767 to PA. They can be found in PA, MD, & TN, where many remained. They were very close w/the Davidsons of Scotland & went West from TN., stopping off in Illinois & Iowa & then to Oregon where I am. I'm sure we've got alot of relatives in common. Check my bio & the memorials I take care of & see if anything rings a bell. I'm still catching up, haven't done much w/Davidsons, Warters & Webbs yet, but let me know if I can help you in your quest.
With all sincerity,
Kathie L.Webb Blair, Portland, Oregon

Powell Burkhart
I too am a relative of Powell Burkhart and have been looking for a photo of him as well. If you find one please contact me so that I can get a copy. My great great grandfather was David Burkhart, brother to Jacob. I am looking for a photo of him and wondered if you or your family might have one. Thank you very much. Lisa
