Bio and Links
Bio Photo Searching for my own family got me started with cemetery records but the complex intricacies of the human spirit have kept my interest. I enjoy finding out more about the individual and the family.

My university degree is in art history and I had the pleasure of working with that field for many years. This probably explains my need to know what others might consider "ancient history" of the individual person!

Also--anyone may use the cemetery or grave photos I've attached to memorials. Personal photos of people should be requested.

RE: Pearl Family
Thank you for asking. Certainly feel free to use my tombstone picture of John Pearl and others from Find A Grave.
I thought I found a magazine item about the Pearl wagon train meeting someone else on the Platte River. I do not have it handy. There is also a manuscript by Elizabeth, sister of John. There was difficulty landing a raft at The Dalles and everything was nearly lost. Are you familiar with that? I have a copy but it is old and I am not sure of the present condition.
Yoy can contact me at sengercm@gmail.com if you wish.

You submitted a correction to the death date? I find all the records indicate the one on Find A Grave. Do you have any documentation? Thanks, waiting on the correction.

Many thanks for the edits! I always welcome chances to fill in the picture, especially when the person lived in the 1600s.

Hi,
Just got your notice/additions. It does state on her gravestone that she died "in ye 23rd year of her age"...which actually makes her 22+ years old but less than 23 years old. Another example would be if a child died in the 1st year of their age..actually they are less than 1 year old..in the 2nd year of their age they are 1+ years old but less than 2 and so on..it is how they used to write their age...if that makes any sense!!

I will add her birth year if you find there is a vital record to that effect but will add the rest...thanks so much for contributing this.

Good luck with your genealogy,
Sara
