Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Been a resident for 37 years. I like to take photos of folks and researching in Genealogy. I like to walk cemeteries and read the stories by the signs of tokens left by ones on there. I thank God for saving me, blessing me, with the blessed hope of a home in Heaven. I praise him for giving us Jesus, his son, my Savior and Lord of my life. I thank him for his Holy Spirit too. Jesus is my everything, he is my all. Without him I am nothing, without him I can do nothing.

John Jacob Dressler #51400326
Very sorry that I have the memorial # wrong in 1st message. I intended to state that John Jacob Dressler was the son of Johann Andres and Mary (Loy) Dressler. John Jacob Dressler was married to Susanna Homan, Born 15 March 1773 - Died 31 January 1845. Could John Jacob have been married twice, or had a son Jacob? The book also shows a Sarah A. Dressler, Born 9 August 1827-Died 6 March 1869, wife of David H. Wehry and daughter of Jacob and Mary A. (Billman) Dressler. Mark

Hi Louise, If you are connected to Johann, I have a little information taken from the book "There is Something About Rough and Ready" by Lawrence Knorr, Sunbury Press. His wife was Mary Loy. Regards, Mark Weitzel

I noticed you left flowers on these two memorials and one of your messages seems to indicate that you are related. I am related to Katherine but my family history (published 1922) shows their names as Oliver Thomas Miller and Annie M. (nee Baker). Their children that I fine in census records all match my family history. Can you shed any light? Thanks, Paul (of Annandale, VA)

Henry N. Synder
Hello Louise, I searched the Fletcher Family Cemetery on Find A Grave hoping to find my great great Grandfather, Henry N. Synder, and his wife Cynthia, my great great grandmother. Henry was from Clear Ridge (Clearville now) in Bedford Co., PA. He must be related to Phillip Synder who is buried in this cemetery. My line back to Henry is as follows; Glenn Converse, Effa M.(Rice) Converse, Minerva (Synder) Rice, Henry N. Synder. The Rice family is also from this same area. They came to Kansas in the 1880's where I now live. My Converse family came from Lycoming Co.PA and also came to KS in the 1880's. Since you are related to Phillip, do you know of his siblings? They are not mentioned on his find a grave page. Phillip's parents are mentioned and I will be searching the census next for them. Thank you, or anyone else, who may know this information. Sincerely, Carole Converse

Thank you for 'visiting' my kitties. You have even neater flower tokens than I do!

Minnie Garlick
Hello Louise,
Yes, Minnie was indeed first married to John Wesley Garlick. I added her marriage record to Harry to her memorial. It gives the date of death for J. Wesley and her father's name and Harry's parents names. The 1900 census was my first clue.
I added several other Garlick memorials to the family.

Minnie Garlick 139600325
Hello Louise,
Thank you for your note on the Garlicks. I did more research yesterday. I was in Camp Hill so we ran over to the PA State Archives in Harrisburg to check the Bedford County death register. I found J. Wesley died Feb. 7, 1898. Daughter Ethel and son Harvey list parents as Minnie and Wesley, so it seems Minnie was first married to Wesley. The census 1900 shows she had 4 children. I want to check the obit for Wesley when I get to the Bedford Co Historical Society or the PA State Library, it was closed yesterday.
Let me know it you have any info to add. This is a work in progress.
