|PSC||RE: Joseph Arle|
That was a difficult find for me, but very interesting reading, and it was really crazy that after visiting family in France, when he returned to New York, he stayed there. It was reported that he left his trunk in Europe at the dock. I don't think after that visit any family members heard from him again.

On the listing for Emma Arle Jacobs, you state that Joseph Arle died in 1884, he actually deserted his wife and children, which is well documented in the Sturgeon Bay newspapers that can be found online through the Door County Library. Joseph died in New York City in 1899 in the Alms House Asylum which was located on Blackwell's Island, now known as Roosevelt Island, in the East River between Manhattan and Queens.

i just happened to be going to a police academy with a young man from that part of the woods (like you) and he told me about the private farm. Thank you so much for trying.
