RE: Saunders
To History: Just so you know, you can use the "edit" button in top right corner & pick what you would like to add, (if you know for sure what it is), such as, there is one for Name, birth date/place, death date/place, Relationship etc. On relationship, if you know who the father, mother, or spouse is, you must look up their Mem.# first, then you can go to edit & enter those #s under relationship. This is the new and much faster way to process info. If you have a marriage date/place or additional info that's not listed, you can leave message; or, in my case, you may contact me direct by email at
I assume you may be a Saunders or Marshall relative. My grandma, Martha (Marshall) Pitts, was a sister to Carrie Marshall Saunders & Melissa Marshall Saunders, so I'm always looking for more info.
Now, on William "Ep", do you know where he died?
Also, his birthdate on stone is 1877 not 1876, which is correct? Linda (Pitts) Meyer

I'm sorry, but you didn't say which cemetery you were talking about. Please give me some more details. Thanks.

RE: Florine F Saunders
Dear Florine,

My ancestors are from the area and some are buried in this cemetery, but I live in Georgia and was only there for a few hours while I was on vacation. The cemetery is medium size and very overgrown and I only took a few photographs of those graves that I thought are possibly related to me, therefore these are the only entries I entered. However, based on a cemetery book my cousin and her daughter (Kenney Shrophshire Roseberry and Rogers Roseberry Barde) wrote "God's Acres: Private Graveyards in Bourbon County, Kentucky", it states there are 42 graves in this cemetery. While I was there I purchased this book and as I'm looking at it, I see no Sanders/Saunders listed in this cemetery. I'm not sure where Kenney and Rogers obtained their information as to who's buried here. The book also does not list any Sanders/Saunders buried in Bourbon County, Kentucky. This book can be purchased at the Hopewell Museum in Paris, Kentucky. Someone there or at the Historic Society in Paris might be able to assist you. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

RE: William Kane
I was at the Dickerson Cemetery yesterday placing flowers on my parents graves. I looked for any other Kane' in the Dickerson cemetery and never found any.

It was hot and I was tired and I have COPD and can't be out that much because of my lungs. So maybe I over looked a stone somewhere. In the fall I will be back to Salt Lick and will check again for your family.

RE: William Kane
After a little research, I did find William Kane' birth year is incorrect on his stone. According to William F Kane' WWI Draft Registration card he was born June 1, 1875. 1900, 1920, census William is listed as born about 1875.

I found John Kane' DC and his son' John Jr., have listed them in the Dickerson Cemetery.

Linked Jemimah to her father, who is buried in the Owingsville Cemetery, Bath Co.

RE: William Kane
If I go to the Dickerson' cemetery I can look for any other graves with the surname Kane. Its very possible they are buried in the Dickerson cemetery but do not have a stone, or their stone has sunken.

I will not be near Bethel, or Bethel Cemetery.

If I find any more on the Kane family I will let you know.

God Bless

RE: William Kane
After a little more research, I found William F Kane, died when slate fell in a coal mine at Micco, Logan Co, WV. William' DC gave he was born in Nicholas Co, KY. I believe his place of birth is incorrect on the DC., and William was born in Bath Co.

William F Kane, married Addie Pearl Alfrey on Nov 28, 1906, Rowan Co, KY.

Addie Pearl (Alfrey) Kane' DC gave she is also buried in Salt Lick. I have listed both Addie and William' mother in the Dickerson cemetery.

I plan on visiting the Dickerson cemetery later this month if possible, I will look for Addie and Jemimah' stones.
