John Blakemore Sellers
RE: John Blakemore
It is a blessing to get someone in a new generation to pick up on and push forward the legacies of those who have passed before us. Also a blessing for those families in our past to keep records for the benefit of future generations. I imagine life was more difficult for families following the Revolutionary War than during the War. Congratulations on his accomplishments; must run in the lineage. You will have to plan another venture into the past for him. We all need to find those forgotten little family cemeteries before it is too late.

RE: John Blakemore
Thank you. I treasure my descent from the Blakemore's of Virginia. Without Fort Blakemore, the new frontier may have not been as successful. They sure were not only patriots but hard core frontiersmen. It is a tragedy that the Blakemore's and their immediate descendants experienced such horrific tragedies when trying to farm the frontiers of Virginia/West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Where families have been killed by Indians, I have left a flower on Find A Grave in the form of a tomahawk, as a way to express their futile attempts to survive before and during the Dunmore War era. It was unfortunate that the Cherokee and Shawnee nations were hostile to our frontiersmen.

RE: Rice McDavis
I understand. There are many variations of the Medaris name. BTW do you have an image of the memorial? Thanks again.

Matthew Kincannon
I'm a descendant of William Irving Kincannon which you have as a son of Matthew Kincannon but he is actually the son of Matthew's brother, Andrew. Andrew is the one who married Catherine McDonald. These are William Irving "Billy"s parents.

Thank you,

Rice McDavis
Thank you for this memorial to my 6th great grandfather. His name was actually Rice Medaris. His wife from the old country could not pronounce his last name.

William R. Brown
Good evening,

Thank you for letting me know you also made a memorial page for William R. Brown.

Your page is amazing and I would really hate for you to delete it. I can delete mine if you add some of my information and that I can add it to our DAR Chapter's virtual cemetery.

Let me know what you want to do.
