William (Kirby?) King
Thanks so much for the application for pension information on William. It has been added to his site. I appreciate the intensive work you are doing on behalf of our earliest veterans by telling the lost stories of their service.

The source of the Kirby middle name came from my cousin Roberta. I'll be checking with her about that source and make a change if needed.

Thank you!
H Vonnie,

Words can not express my sincere gratitude for the love and research that you have put into my 5th great grandmother's mémorial. Thank you for the kindness you have shown in creating this beautiful mémorial, even taking time to do research, photos and place a stone since her burial site is lost. You are truly an exceptional person. God bless you! hugss from my heart to yours.

My Thoughts
I am so sorry that you have endured such abuse. You deserve all the praise that can be given and more, and your work should be considered above reproach. You are a wonderful historian and skilled researcher. This abuse is appalling, but I do understand. My genealogical and historical research has not been questioned a lot, but with my DNA research in hand, it's amazing that some individuals (I call them Archie Bunker type genealogists) look at the Y-DNA results and say, "Well, that's just wrong!" It is so ridiculous that it's laughable at times, and humor is the only way I can cope with them and keep my sanity. With the onset of, it seems that more and more are "coming out of the woodwork" every day, and their errors and misinformation proliferates as we speak.
It is too bad that DNA can't be used in some way to verify who was at King's Mountain (Oh, but I forget, they wouldn't believe the DNA results).
It is wonderful to converse with a true historian, so keep the faith, and keep up the good work.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 17564617
Unfortunately Vonnie, I never listed a marriage records for this memorial and I do not manage it. All the memorials I manage are family members and their information is correct from doing extensive research with my family members. If you have further questions please let me know. But I don't add many memorials, and I've had them transferred to me. The few that I have are immediate family and surely know when they were married/born/died. Thanks

Good to Know
I hope we can agree to disagree, I am going to stick with no apostrophe. My modern publishers would not let me put the apostrophe in when they were proofreading, so that is why I don't.

Yes, I am local. I was born and raised in western Lincoln County, only a few miles from the Gaston County line, went to college at Sacred Heart/Belmont Abbey, and married a Gaston County native whose ancestors were also near the base of Kings Mountain. My brother and I were at Kings Mountain Battlefield on Sat. for the open house at the Howser House. As always, it was quite a treat to visit there. It is quite amazing.

You have done some excellent historical work, and I have noticed and admired your work for some time how.
Just now added some info (bio) to James Alexander with his DAR number, etc. Will add more as time permits. Hope it meets with your approval.

Thanks again. I never mind suggestions, etc. on any of my work, it keeps me on my toes.
