I live in the Tallahassee Florida area. I descend from Benoni Pearson of Worth County Ga.on my paternal side. On my maternal side I descend from John Lawrence Wilkinson (American Revolutionist) and Thomas Andrews b. 1795 Burke County Ga. died in Holmes County Florida. 2nd Great Granddaddy Thomas Andrews was pioneer to Holmes County Ga. This makes me a 5th generation Floridian. All my memorials are my direct ancestors. If you are more closely related than I, I will transfer to you, upon request.

RE: John Franck Shine
Some years ago, a list of burials for the Blackshear cemetery was provided to the library by a patron. There are only a few gravestones at the Blackshear cemetery and, as far as I know, there isn't one for John Franck Shine. It could be that the person who submitted the information was mistaken and that John isn't buried in the Blackshear cemetery. Did you find anything listed in the newspaper?

Andrews Homestead Cemetery
Where is Andrews Homestead Cemetery located? Just found Broxton Cemetery, and listed its visible headstones and others from a burial list; a small cemetery. Seems like Andrews Homestead Cemetery will be small one also. Michael

Jessie Yon
Thank you for posting the photos of Jessie. Our Yon family has an profile for Jessie. After WWII some of the family moved to the west coast. Without your help, we would not have had this information. Thank you again for your work.

John Mallory Land
Wilkinson Cemetery
Hi, Shawn - I have transferred all of the memorials at this cemetery to you except one. If it's all right with you, I'd like to hang onto the memorial for Jim COBB, as I am kin to this family by marriage and will be researching his background and family connections further. Have you been in touch with Gwanda Place with the Chattahoochee County Historic Preservation Society? She chairs the cemetery committee for the Society and has spearheaded the effort to clean off, document, and assess several neglected cemeteries, including this one. I'm sure she would be interested in exchanging information with you. If you don't have her contact info (I think her husband William Place is listed in Cusseta), email me and I can send you her email address - contact me at newsompage -at- Thanks for your interest in this cemetery.

RE: George Houston CSA service
Shawn, Thanks for the info on George Houston. I know your cousin Ray Houston. I am in the SCV in Lee County, GA. Ray and I have been at many SCV events together over the years.

George Houston CSA service
Hi Shawn,
The listing for George Houston, buried in the Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County, GA has a note left by you that indicates he was a Confederate veteran. Do you happen to know which unit he served with?

White at Cool Springs

My Mother was a White from Grady/Thomas Counties. I feel sure they connect to those in Decatur County. I also feel sure the Cox family connects as well. I have been sick lately and have not been researching as I was, but, hope to soon get back to it. Thanks, Winnette
