RE: Ervin Samson
Yes that is the guy who was good friends with my father. Ervin got hurt during training while in the 82nd Airborne and was not able to continue with the 82nd so was transfered to another unit. I believe he injured his knee during a practice jump. I have a picture of him and my father together and I have Christmas cards and pictures of his children that were sent to my father after the war. there is a baby picture that on the back is written Susie 1 1/2 mons 1959, a photo that has on the back Pat 15 July 9th, Mike 9 Sepy 6th, Susie 3 months July 2nd, then there is a picture of a little girl that has Patty Samson taken on her first day of school 5 years 2 months Sept 1949
One Christmas card is signed Erv, Sally, Pat and Mike

Ervin Samson
Did this Ervin Samson serve in the 82nd Airborne My father had a very good friend Ervin Samson that he was with at Fort Benning and at fort bragg in 1942. Ervin had gotten injuried on a training jump and did not go overseas with the group. Ervin wrote several letters to my grandmother when my father was overseas. My father and Ervin kept in touch for awhile but then lost touch with each other. i believe that ervin lived in auburn california. my fathers name was Edwin Decker he often talked about ervin and wished that he could get in touch with him. my father died in 1998.

I transferred this memorial to you earlier.
Ernie Wright, who has died, linked a Lois Ann BLAIR memorial to this one. The obit says her maiden name was THOMAS. Obviously she couldn't have a father born in 1797. I believe you need to contact Find A Grave to have her unlinked to your memorial.

Mosher plane?
Hello,
I am doing research about early bi-planes in the Madison Lake, MN area. I have heard that one of the Mosher family had one, maybe Elmer. Any pictures by chance? Thanks. Mary

RE: Paff - Bogue connection
Send me an actual email (if that's ok) and I'll send you a copy of the marriage certificate.

RE: Paff - Bogue connection
I spent a few hours checking and it looks like we aren't related (someone has traced both lines back to the 1600s) fun to figure it out though. Do you know if Doris Harriet Paff Hamilton (married to Robert E Hamilton) ever had children? I couldn't find any. I also found a marriage certificate for Charles Williston Paff and someone named Lillian, but it showed him as born in New York and with a mother with the last name Bunce... do you know if Charles was married?

I know, we're not that closely related and I really shouldn't be mucking about in someone else's family tree. I just feel like I got to know them a bit while I was looking for the connection and the sources I found got me curious.

Cheers
Anne

Paff - Bogue connection
Hi, My many times great Uncle (Antonio Zammitt) had a daughter (Annie Zammitt) who married Robert Hamilton and had a son (Robert Emmett Hamilton) who married Doris Harriet Paff whose brother just happens to be Lloyd Bogue Paff.
My maiden name is Bogue.
I've never met a Bogue in the Western United States that wasn't closely related to me.

So I'm wondering if you know anything at all about how Lloyd got his middle name.

Antonio Zammitt's brother's granddaughter married a Bogue (my great grandfather), so the lines aren't closely related, and they got married in Vancouver, BC and settled in Oregon, so they weren't hanging around San Francisco.

I'm just curious. You seem to have done a lot of work on this family.
Thanks for all the work, and the pictures. I've been trying to get the information for Annie Zammitt's family together, and got totally sidetracked into the world of her son's wife.
Thanks for the help.
Anne
