Bio and Links
Bio Photo My genealogy journey began in earnest in the early 1990s. I've been blessed to visit Germany twice, Poland and the land of my ancestors. We have family mostly from Pommern, but also from Silesia. My original home page was with Geocities/Yahoo which was taken down Oct., 2009. There are several mirror sites I have NO UPDATE control over. Only the Rootsweb link listed here is being maintained.

Mabel 88608318
And any others from up this way =)
Thanks for all the work you do and are doing!

My Dad
Dear Sandra,
The date for my father is wrong. He died January 10, 2005 not 2006. His estate was settled in early 2006. And I just visited the gravesite to confirm 2005 was the year of his death. And I posted a new memorial on this website with the corrected year of his death.

Grave stone mystery
Located at the back of our property there are three grave stones in a Row.

Mutter, Mathilda Haese can not read the dates

Vatter, August Haese 1948-1915

Lilies Gattin Von Arth Haese 1891-1918

Mutter and Vatter are displaced in bold print. They are marble head stones which look like they sat upon a base at one point. They are in the ground a bit and we don't want to disturb them. There also is a lot of writing on the back side of them, I want to say in german. We can make out the word fire but that is about it.

The address is 6950 Dickinson Rd. a little outside of Lark. We have lived her for over 2o years. I don't know why but we never researched the graves. Our neighbor just recently asked use if we knew anything about the history of the property. He didn't come out and say it but I believe he is experiencing some paranormal activity.
I didn't know much myself so we looked up the names on the headstones. You can understand my surprise when I saw that these people were buried in different locations?

Any idea what these headstones might be?

RE: 89640122
I just attached all the Olp grave pictures so they should all be there now.

For Elsa Olp, that record is a duplicate as she is listed as Elsa Olp Schroeder.

Check this list for Evergreen should display them all (except if the married name is different, I haven't gotten to those yet)

Thanks for letting me know but I don't see that any grave photo's for the OLP name at Evergreen. Did you submit a photo request on them ? I find 19 records in Evergreen cem with Olp name but none have any grave marker photos yet. If you do want them just go ahead and put a photo request on them. Thanks

Robert Beaumont

Robert Beaumont at Forest Hill in Owatonna is my GGG grandfather on my mother's side. I have been to this cemetery many times and am continuing to trace the family history. Would you tell me your interest in Robert Beaumont.

I recognize the entrance photo you posed. He is buried on the family plot near the other members of my family.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Sandy!
Long time no email =)
Could you tell me where you found that Fred's name was Fritz?
If you would like, I could maintain all the stuff for the Zeise's in Oak Hill..

Haese History & Zion Cemeteries
Regarding the cemeteries near Morrison, my husband and I were there a month ago looking for his ancestors. There are two separate locations and names. The one near the church is named the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery and it has old and new stones. The other one is Old Morrison Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery which is a couple of miles outside of Morrison. Most of the stones there are very old. There are Haeses buried in each. I think it would be confusing to try to merge the information from these two distinct cemeteries.
The Herman "August" Hase to which you refer in the first paragraph is actually August A. Haese who is the 9th child of Christolph and Carolina. He is my husband's great grandfather. His birth/death dates are correct. Albert A. Haese was their 10th child. They had no children named Herman.
According to the New York Passenger Lists from 1820-1857, August (age 11) and his brothers Johann (36) and Ferdinand (14) came to America in 1854.
Much of this information comes from the book "Haese History"- Descendants of Christolph and Carolina (Backhaus) Haese, as well as and old newspaper articles.
The information and photographs you provided are much appreciated.

RE: Zion cemeteries of Morrison
Well, it looks like there is still an issue. The Zion cemetery has people form both in it. I have contacted folks that live there and am waiting for a confirmation. The photos for the Zion cemetery look to actually be for the newer cemetery. We are probably going to want to get these merged after all.

Sorry for all the confusion. I will let you know what I find.
