Blunts more info
Hi

Sorry to have taken so long to respond to your note regarding the Blunt family. It snowed. I did some poking around and found one of her son's Samuel A Blunt. I posted a picture of his family plot, also in Hollywood Cemetery. To check it out got to Harriet's memorial and follow the links. I found Samuel, his wife Cornelia, their daughter Evia Blunt Maxwell, her husband and at least one of their children also named Cornelia.

I was unable to find anything beyond what you have regarding Richard J. The home she lived in up until her death was in one of the oldest working class neighborhoods in Richmond, she lived in the 600 block of Catherine St. The 500 and the 700 blocks still exist, mostly unchanged. However, her block was redeveloped to make way for a major interchange of I-95 thru the city. This was done in the late 1950's.

Wish I had more but I don't. I did find that there were two other sons, James Blunt b.~1841 and Richard b. ~1845. There were a number of daughter that I was unable to trace.

Hope this helps some.

Regards

Robert Tweedy Bassett
Hi there,

I noticed your post on Robert Tweedy Bassett. I've done a little research myself and apparently I currently live in his house at 1023 East Capitol Street SE. I rent the top floor and it overlooks Lincoln Park about 11 blocks from the Capitol. It's a beautiful old house, and though my partner likes to explain things away - I believe Mr. Bassett may still be wandering the halls a bit.

I visited the Bassett family grave at the Congressional Cemetery a few weeks back. You should check it out next time you are in DC.

Very best,

Jamie

RE: Robert Tweedy family Oak Hill
I have had the same problem with other researchers. I found an on line reference to a family member by a local historian on the local historical society's webpage claiming certain "facts" about a family member. I called the society who did follow up with the local historian. They told me he had no comment and only laughed when they relayed my research to him!

Dear Robert, I agree with your conclusion and have deleted the memorial for Robert Tweedy with an unmarked burial. Thanks for the information.

Robert Tweedy Bassett
It was just today that I saw the floral tribute and message you left at Robert Tweedy Bassett's memorial page. Thank you very much for the new information. I was wondering if you had any more information on Robert Tweedy Bassett or his family that you might be willing to share.

Dorothy
