I was born in the country a few miles North of Hayti, Pemiscot, Missouri. I am retired and now live in McKinney, Texas area.

I attended Dry Bayou Baptist Church as a youngster and have taken a number of photo's at the Dry Bayou Cem, Pemiscot county, Missouri. Many of my family are buried there. I will share those pictures.

James Riley Henderson
The info for James Riley Henderson was taken from the Missouri Death Cert. Stated his parents were G.R. and Alice Darnell Henderson, born and died in 1910 due to Dyptheria, interment in Dry Bayou.

RE: Dowd cemetery, Pemiscot County, Mo.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I personally have never visited Dowd Cemetery, but this was what I was able to find. I don't know if you are familiar with Pemiscot County and/or Hayti, Mo. but here goes: Township 19, Range 12, Section 35 - East of Hayti on the farm of Whitener, close to Levee Road back in field. I don't know if it has been taken care of or not or even if it is accessible.
I found an "inscription" book of many of the older cemeteries. As of March 1971, there was only seven persons mentioned interred there. William Pollard was not one of them, but that does not mean he isn't there.

Thank you ever so much for the genealogy. I have forwarded information to my sister and her daughter. I am sure they will be delighted to know this information.

I am the geru for my Welty's. James & Jim do not ring a bell for me, however, the Welty line goes back many generations and branches. We are probably related. The author, Eudora Welty, is my 4th cousin, twice removed.

I should have said pictures, plural. I appreciate them.

Yes, I believe my sister's husband is related to the Davy Crockett. However, I have not done research on his line.

Metzger siblings!!!
WOW!!!!! Talk about staying barefoot and pregnant I guess I didn't realize there were so many of them........WOW......Can you put on Lydia's memorial anywhere how she was related to Davy Crockett? I think she was his great niece, I would have to look at my papers to make sure. Thanks for taking the time to fill in all the blanks for our ancestors and for our future history buffs. Your cousin, Pam

Jacob & Barbara Metzger
Hello Cousin, I was adding some stuff to Find A Grave and saw what all you have added. Great Job! I didn't know some of that stuff, glad to know a family member is taking care of our past for future family history buffs. Hey, don't Henry and Barbara have a son and daughter buried at Oak Grove too? Their names were Barbara and George. Or do I have the wrong cemetery?
