|RobMinteer57||greetings to a Varner cousin|
Your grandmother, Gracia (Perry) Nordyke, was a second cousin of my great-grandmother, Anna (Meek) Wright, in the Varner family. I'd sure like to fill in some details for your part of the family, if you have a list of descendants you can send sometime.
I knew several of the Perry girls. Both sides of my families lived near them. Although Gladys and Mae were in their 70's when I was a kid, our family still knew them as "the Perry girls".
The reason I am writing is that I am trying to locate a photo of Gladys. I ran across an article from the Elgin Review and would like to put a photo with it. Gladys knew six generations of the Donner family. I knew that Marie (Perry) Nordyke had some family. I thought that I met some at her estate sale.
If possible can you please put me in connection with a family member who may have a photo.

I am the great granddaughter of Anna Josephine Nordyke whose father was Frank Nordyke. I am looking for any info that you might have on the family that is not included in the Find a Grave website. The info that you have posted is so great. I have been to the graveyard that Micajah donated in Ohio and have pictures from there.
Thanks for your help,

If you would like a picture of the area where he is buried I can easily do that. I will be going to the cemetery this weekend. Ace

Hi! Can you please call the cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the memorial or send it to me.
Forest Home is a huge cemetery with well over 70,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find someone there. I go here regularly, and since August I have found over 150 graves at Forest Home that had the location information provided. Thank you! Ace

I am going to try to get out to Forest Home cemetery in a few weeks. If you can get the section and plot number for the Knuth headstones, I will try to get those pictures for you.

Have you considered posting a biography for Williams Griggs Green? He had a very interesting life including the founding of two towns in Menard County.

Hi Steve, I got your message about Samuel Nordyke's picture. My husband is lineage is Abraham Nordyke to Micajah Nordyke to Samuel Nordyke to Rachel Nordyke to Gertrude Husted to Jesse Barber to Jim Barber (my husband). The picture of Samuel and Eunice is actually one photo that we got from Jim's grandmother, Gertrude Husted, granddaughter of Samuel Nordyke. I'd be happy to email it to you directly. I also have a picture of Micajah in his older age than the one I have seen on the Findagrave site for Micajah. The photo has an ink line across it (grrrrr!) but I'd be happy to email it also to you. I also have found the marriage license for Stephen Henry Nordyke and Rebecca Perkins (Abraham's parents) I have pictures of Rachel Nordyke and found the application for pension for Samuel's service in the Civil War. Send me the email address where you want the pictures sent and I will love to share. Sincerely, Barb Barber

I guess you're wife and I are cousins. Say hello for me. You might want to add a note to Elizabeth's memorial that she is the aunt of William Mentor Graham memorial #3006. He was Abraham Lincoln's friend and teacher.
Our family's were very close at one time. My great uncle William Graham Greene Benway was named after William Graham Green, the son of William and Elizabeth.
