|Charles E. Carroll||Mattie Mays|
I made a mistake, thinking Mattie was buried at Crawford Cemetery in Anderson County. She is not the Mattie that is buried there.
Your Mattie was still alive in 1930.
I am sorry for the mistake.

Ihave the photo for Ida Adams grave. It took over two weeks to get the location information. I'll be glad to upload it.
|Samuel Lane||RE: A question|
One other matter: Refresh my memory as to the name of the indvidual you requested a photo for. If I can at all possibly find him, I will certainly take a pic of the grave or even the specific plot if the good people at Uniondale can pinpoint it.
|Samuel Lane||RE: A question|
If you are referring to Section A where many of the graves are unmarked, I will try. The problem these days is that the main road (Rt. 28) between where I live and Uniondale Cemetery is undergoing major renovation and teh traffic is HORRIBLE! I and others avoid going to the North Side if at all possible.
Again, I will try (and I'll be certain to take a lunch with me.)
|Samuel Lane||A question|
By the way, do you want a pic of Sect. A to post on the memorial page? It would look rather nice though not specific.
|Samuel Lane||RE: Albert Fowler MIA|
Well, as I told you, I walked the circular Section A twice, in both directions. Because the grave is unmarked that explains why I didn't find it but there is no designated "singles section". As for the number, I saw the cemetery worker's map and there were numbersassigned to the various graves but none went that high.
This taking pics for Find A Grave is turning out to be more difficult than one can imagine. Last week I went to a "St. Mary's Cemetery" which was close to me. Of the seven names I sought, two had no listing in their recrds and three had lcoation cites that didn't coincide with the cemetery" Sct. P, Sect. T, "Immaculate conception" grove. They had no Sect. P, Sect. T or "Immaculate conception" grove. There are five "St. Mary's" cemeteries in the Pittsburgh area and one that I know of that isn't listed!You would think Catholics would coordinate their cemetery naming efforts.
Sorry about Albert fowler.

I was at Uniondale again and I searched the other two Section A's - Div 2 and Div. 1 without success. Have you gained any new information?
|Samuel Lane||RE: Albert Fowler|
Keep in mind there are three Divisions to Uniondale, each has a Sect. A. Be certain of the Division. If you talk to the woman in te office, tell her that Sect A in Div. 3 was searched thoroughly.
|Samuel Lane||Albert Fowler|
In Div. 3 Section A is a circle of not great size. I decided to walk it to find Mr. Fowler's grave. No success. The number you state has no meaning for that section. I consulted with some workmen who had a better map than mine and th numbers do not go that high. I walked the circle twice; around the outer edge and closer to the center. Most of the markers there are for families, few indviduals. Pleas conact the cemetery for better info.
