|Gwen Cosby Moore||Jarrett Thomas, Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery|
I am descended from Jarrett Thomas, Sr. through his son Nathan T. Thomas and wife Elizabeth Hardaway. I have always assumed that Jarrett was buried at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Lamar County as I have a copy of the deed where he donated the land for the church. I have not been able to prove it though as I could not find the grave nor was it listed with the church. I may have just missed it. There is a grave there that is marked with an iron marker with no name. A church member felt that it may be Jarrett's grave, but it is so old and rusted that there is no info on it. Do you know for sure if he is buried there? I live in Lamar County and will photograph it if you can give me an idea of where it is in the cemetery. Will photograph Mary Thomas Gossett's grave and post it for you also. Would be glad to share any genealogical info if this is your line.

Are you possibly related to a Harley Barnes of Dade City, Fl. I do know their Barnes line came from Alabama. Not sure where though. They were great friends of my mother when I was a child. They are all gone now.
|Bob Collins||Desiderio in Green-Wood|
I have provided the grave photos you requested and am creating memorial pages for others buried with them.

|John Harman||RE: Mothers|
No idea where she is buried, but concur that she died in NC prior to John Lewis' removal to AL. I have in my great grandmother's writings (John and Epsy's granddaughter who knew several of her Lewis aunts and uncles) that John and Epsy married in NC but I dont know it for sure. Dont know where in NC John was from; Epsy was from the Johnston/Sampson Co line. Their eldest, Geo. Wash. Lewis, was born in 1838 or early 1839 in Barbour Co. - cant remember the date off the top of my head.
