I was born and raised in Angelina County, but I have been transplanted to Cherokee County since 2002. I am remarried into a 4 generations deep family from Wells, Tx.|
I have always been interested in genealogy. My grandmother, Hazel Lacey Hawthorn, instilled an interest in visiting the cemeteries of our ancestors. She "schooled" me well in my history.
I am always intersted in receiving contacts from extended family members, especially those from my maternal family in Oklahoma.
I enjoy visiting cemeteries, but I love the ease to which findagrave.com has provided.
I am willing to transfer "loved ones" to you or make any corrections to the memorials. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB.

As it turns out, the county line may divide the town and/or the cemetery. I have emailed the genealogy room in Yoakum asking for help to clarify this. Hopefully they will reply.
I just hate when a cemetery is claimed by two counties! It creates such a mess to try to sort out!

Donna, as I said in other msg - those aren't his parents BUT now I'm off trying to figure out the cemetery issue. There are 2 Hebron Cemetery names, and 2 places called Yoakum. One in Lavaca Co, and one in DeWitt Co. The counties are adjoining. Someone else has the parents of William Perry Bailey (Oliver & Julia) in the OTHER county and OTHER cemetery. They have the father in Bailey Cemetery in Lavaca Co but mother in the Hebron Cemetery in DeWitt Co .
I have sent a msg to other contributor and asked IF he knows the difference.
It is SO confusing! Or it could be because its 3AM and I'm still up doing this, hah!

Per his memorial, and per birth record, he was the s/o Henry Bailey & Bessie Helen Owsby ... so no, he's not the s/o the man with same name nor brother of Julia.
1930 census shows the family you want ... before William & Katie divorced.
Julia had 3 brothers: Oliver, Melvin, and George. Of course she "might" have had half-siblings later on but we'd need to find her father in 1940 census to see if he remarried as did her mother, who can be found in 1940 already married to the Clanton man.

I'll see what I can do - might be tomorrow though. Can't promise anything but I'll check.

Look at Julia's pg now. I have her linked to parents.

Donna, found someone I "think" is her father. He has no pg. His DC says he was divorced so I don't know about Julia's mother yet. I'm "assuming" this is her father because of name, location, and the fact that his mother was named Julia on his DC. All seems to fit and I have a "gut feeling" about it so I'm going to run with it.

Thank you Donna for the additional info. I will also look for the parents of Julia Bailey Vann.

|Karen Wells Hampton||Ancestry|
I have a tree started online if you would like a link to it you can help to connect people from the cemetery. Jeff and I moved to Wells in 1972. I don't live there anymore but our son does. Our daughter moved to Louisiana. I need your email if you would like the link.

Was your grandmother a Sessions? Jeff's daddy's mother was a sessions. Rube Sessions was her father and I think her and Hazel were sisters.
If you maintain the burials at the cememtery in Wells, Carol "Cook" Smith and his wife were Minnie Beth's (Jeff's mother) parents.
