Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am the 7th great grandson of Andreas Peterson Longacre Born in 1657, who was the son of Peter Anderson, born about 1620 in Sweden. Peter staggered off the boat at Ft.Christina, now in Delaware, in 1640.
I am the fifth great grandson of Andrew & Hannah Ireson Longacre, my fore bearers that courageously moved from the Delaware river area by Philadelphia to Winchester VA, around 1752. They are the fore bearers of all Western & Southern Longacre's.
I am the third great grandson of John Longacre, murdered by federal troops in front of his home in Bluff Springs Missouri in July 1862.
I have at least 1000 photos of my family's grave sites and place's they lived and died. This is my attempt to share them with the world.
Did I mention I love this stuff?

John Thomas Longacre
Find a grave memorial #42075339. I have a question as to the name for this person. The headstone says J T and you have put John Thomas. when I have looked at some census records(1860 and 1870) it refers to him as James Thomas. Also other people have referred to him as James Thomas could you please clear this up for me. Thanks, Tammy

Graves of Thomas and Martha McPherson
I just read your post dated May 8, 2012 where you and Ernie McPherson were planning on trying to locate the abovementioned graves.

Wondering if you were ever able to accomplish this and, if so, I would love to hear of your experience.

Thomas Welcome McPherson and Martha Jane Hagler McPherson are my gg grandparents. I have spent literally years trying to learn information about them. Numerous local librarians would not tell me their story. They kept referring to an out-of-print book that I did not have access to. Finally, a sympathetic librarian sent me copies of the pages you added to your post.

Btw, the reason the book went out-of-print is because when the book was published, the descendents of the swindlers still lived on the same property that belonged to Thomas & Martha.
No one had any idea that all this had taken place in 1879. Due to extreme humiliation, this story in the book was "buried", along with many others, no doubt. That was the explanation I received from the librarian who sent me the pages, which was long before the internet.

Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time.

Most Sincerely,

Mrs. Barbara Ann Grimshaw

Charles Longacre
My Great Grandmother was Susan Ethel Longacre, one of Charle Longacre's daughters. I have read Quantrill,s Thieves and there is one chapter on Charles. It says in 1910 he moved to Siloam, Arkansas where he retired and eventually died. If you have not read this book, you should. It's pretty interesting. Bob.

Longacre line
I should say that my earlier post meant that I have not done much research on the Longacre line, but I have extensive research on the Rice/Cave/Tucker line.

I think you provided me a copy of the order for Nancy and her daughter, while being held in St. Louis
