I manage~~not own~~the memorials I place on FindaGrave. Please use the SAC (edit feature) when asking for changes. This prevents mistakes because the edit feature connects me to the right memorial. Please read this ★ ☆ ★ FAQs ★ ☆ ★ before you intentionally make a duplicate of a memorial (which is a no no): I do transfer out of guidelines a lot if I feel you will maintain the memorial you request better than I can ~ which means a beloved aunt, cousin, best friend, etc. (Just don't ask for a whole cemetery or a whole list of the same name especially if you happened to find this site and have been a member for a few days). Stick around for awhile - contribute. Although a great place for genealogy this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE!
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆
Permission has been given to GenealogyTrails.com to use my photos for their excellent site.
YES - you have permission to use the photos I took for your personal family files. I would appreciate it if you cited where you found the photo and if possible link back to FindAGrave.com.
However unless you are a nonprofit organization, this is not to be copied & pasted on a commercial site or used for commercial publication without permission.

I love to have additional information to add to the memorials. In winter I go through what I have put up and link families, find additional dates, etc. Although it looks like I have more than I can handle, I have had no problem adding suggested information. I have 35 years of experience in family history research and will be happy to add links or more biographical information on your family.

If you are requesting a photo - all information is helpful. Many people only have flat to the ground memorials, and they are difficult to find. If you know of other family names that might be close by, that is very helpful in large cemeteries. Also if your memorial served in the military, that is very helpful as most cemeteries commemorate with a flag.

I love the challenge of photographing really old stones. I also love the zincs - which were an inexpensive product for the time but have outlasted some of the more expensive marbles and granites. The zincs were very popular during the Prohibition Era because the insides were hollow and easily accessible.

The people we ~meet~ in these resting places are integral in putting together family history. The memorial may be all that is left.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆
Thank you to all the volunteers who have added photos to my memorials, taken the time to send me information, added their own memorials, found a dupe or two, and have been kind and respectful.

It is so important that if you have an old cemetery near you, to get these stones recorded before weather and/or vandals get to them.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★★ ☆
I do try to wipe off debris and pull some overgrown grass out of the way, but I will not harm the stone in any way. Plus I do not pull up flowers, even if they are wilted.
It's a bit of work to take the photos, re size and sometimes enhance the lettering to be made readable, enter names and upload the photos. I do this lovingly. Please respect that.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★
I have a camera that takes good photos, however the condition of the stone may make it unreadable or the stone is so damaged that there is no information. Bright sunny days might be good for walks but can wash out headstone inscriptions. I do retakes a lot.

Thank you!
This is a quick "thank you!" for adding my grandparents headstone to their memorials (Charles Henry Tuttle & Evelyn Snow Perry Tuttle). I have not been to Connecticut since my grandmother's service in 1993.

I do truly appreciate your efforts!

Ebenezer "Howard" Plant
Hi, I submitted a SAC for you for Ebenezer Plant II as I found his obituary. There is conflicting information in the obit versus what is on his headstone, but the year of his death is the same - 1891. The obit has his death as Jan 11, 1891 not Jan 12, 1891, and it has him as 63 years of age, not 70 years of age as is on his headstone. The "announcement" has his death in Plantsville, but the write-up is from Southington, so I submitted the SAC with Southington, but I will leave that to your discretion (perhaps Plantsville is more accurate as it reads "He died at his home on Main street after an illness of only a few days.") Anyway, again, I'll let you decide how to handle it all -- I just wanted to get the year on the record:-)

I just wanted to clarify and let you know what I found. Please let me know if you have any questions or have any differing information.

Thanks!
Denise

I would love to have you transfer their graves to me. I have a copy of Noach's death certificate and it is listed as the 10 of February, 1919 and not 1918.

Thank You,

Rebecca

Plainville Cemeteries
Question: If a relative died in 1869, what cemetery would he be most likely to be buried in in Plainville at that time? The rest of the Blossoms/Cottrells are buried in West Cemetery but Benjamin Blossom who was murdered while travelling through New Haven and then his body claimed by his daughter, who was also from Plainville, seems nowhere to be found? Any suggestions? Gale C.

Damon Family
Hi,

With all the email problems at Find A Grave recently, I don't think several SAC requests I previously sent to you ever went through. Transfers aren't necessary, though I would gladly accept resonsibility for these memorials if you so choose.

The following three children can all be linked to parents Homer 43421189 and Josephine 43421203:

Frederick Damon 51463076
William Damon 51463075
Herbert Damon 51463073

The link on Howard Damon 51463074 to his mother should be corrected to Josephine 43421203. (It is currently entered as 43421202)

On Josephine Damon 43421203, Please link her to her parents Elijah 28534206 and Catherine 28534366.

Finally, on Homer Franklin Damon 43421189, please link him to his parents Jonathan 35253548 and Martha 35253549, and add the following sentence to the bio:

He married Josephine Maria Longley on Nov 23,1864 at Hawley,MA.
