I manage~~not own~~the memorials I place on FindaGrave. Please use the SAC (edit feature) when asking for changes. This prevents mistakes because the edit feature connects me to the right memorial. Please read this ★ ☆ ★ FAQs ★ ☆ ★ before you intentionally make a duplicate of a memorial (which is a no no): I do transfer out of guidelines a lot if I feel you will maintain the memorial you request better than I can ~ which means a beloved aunt, cousin, best friend, etc. (Just don't ask for a whole cemetery or a whole list of the same name especially if you happened to find this site and have been a member for a few days). Stick around for awhile - contribute. Although a great place for genealogy this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE!

Permission has been given to GenealogyTrails.com to use my photos for their excellent site.
YES - you have permission to use the photos I took for your personal family files. I would appreciate it if you cited where you found the photo and if possible link back to FindAGrave.com.
However unless you are a nonprofit organization, this is not to be copied & pasted on a commercial site like Ancestry. They charge a lot of money for their services and should not take advantage of volunteer work.

I love to have additional information to add to the memorials. In winter I go through what I have put up and link families, find additional dates, etc. Although it looks like I have more than I can handle, I have had no problem adding suggested information.

If you are requesting a photo - all information is helpful. Many people only have flat to the ground memorials, and they are difficult to find. If you know of other family names that might be close by, that is very helpful in large cemeteries. Also if your memorial served in the military, that is very helpful as most cemeteries commemorate with a flag.

I love the challenge of photographing really old stones. I also love the zincs - which were an inexpensive product for the time but have outlasted some of the more expensive marbles and granites. The zincs were very popular during the Prohibition Era because the insides were hollow and easily accessible.

The people we ~meet~ in these resting places are integral in putting together family history. The memorial may be all that is left.

I have 35 years of experience in family history research and will be happy to add links or more biographical information on your family.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have added photos to my memorials, taken the time to send me information, added their own memorials, found a dupe or two, and have been kind and respectful.

It is so important that if you have an old cemetery near you, to get these stones recorded before weather and/or vandals get to them.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★★ ☆
I do try to wipe off debris and pull some overgrown grass out of the way, but I will not harm the stone in any way. Plus I do not pull up flowers, even if they are wilted.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★
It's a bit of work to take the photos, re size and sometimes enhance the lettering to be made readable, enter names and upload the photos. I do this lovingly. Please respect that.
★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★
I have a camera that takes good photos, however the condition of the stone may make it unreadable or the stone is so damaged that there is no information. Bright sunny days might be good for walks but can wash out headstone inscriptions. I do retakes a lot.

Thanks for posting the headstone photo and contacting me with the birth year. I have made the correction. Would you like me to transfer this memorial to your care?

RE: Don Ramon Dennis
I lost my dad back in 1992, and for years I'd go to pick up the phone, to ask him how to do something. I still have days when I'd give anything to just ask him about things when he was growing up, and the military. Have a peaceful week.

PS: Thanks for the note back.

What a nice and sweet memorial you created for your Dad. It was warming to one's heart to read of a such a kind and patient man, and how he was with his family. Thanks for sharing a glimpse of someone who served his country and family. I'm sure he's quite missed, and I was sorry to learn of your loss. I liked the whimsy post card of his ship, the USS Skylark.

Hannah Root
Thank you for visiting East Street Cemetery initially.

I guess I was asking because I have all of the research for all of the Roots buried here. Unfortunately I am unable to distinguish who this "Hannah Root" is. The bottom part of the stone is covered by soil, where I cannot ready who she was wife of.

RE: Elijah Allen
The Elijah Allen born in 1824 died 1900 is the son of Ira Alonzo Allen and Elizabeth Potter in my family tree. He and Susan St. Ores (or in some cases spelled St. O'Rees), She was born in 1828. They had a daughter Ida and 8 other children. Ida had two children. One born out of wedlock was Clarence Allen 1883-1953 (MY GRANDFATHER) Ida married a Mr. Clark and had another son She then married Mr.F.O. Anderson and had no more children. She died in Thomson, Illinois. Her information is in find a grave under her name as is Clarence's. Yes we probably are related.

George W Eaton
Find A Grave burial in West Cemetery in Plainville, CT has a marker for George W. Eaton and most of the Eatons in that same cemetery are his relatives. I am helping a lady in our genealogy group try to find George's parents which I have not been able to find any family trees or records devulging that info. Are you part of his family or have you researched this family to know anything about his parentage? Thank you for any assistance you may have. Judy Ragan
