Bertha Dornbush, Burns Kansas
I believe Bertha is my great grandmother, Bertha Baierlein Liebler Dornbush. My grandmother is one of four daughters by her first marriage to Fred Liebler, Madison County Illinois. Fred died when my grandmother was very young. Bertha remarried Mr. Dornbush, and had children by him. I have no information on any Dornbush still in Burns.

RE: Mary F Nickell
Jim,
I contacted Betty, below is her reply.

Hello Claudette,
Tony's wife was Mary Bankston, or could have been Banksten. Her mother was refered to as Grandma Greggs or Griggs. She was also married to a gentleman by the name of Hoppis.
Tony and Mary's son, Elmer John, passed away last week and I attended the funeral. You might be able to retrieve the Obituiary from the Harrison Daily Times. His Mother's name was listed as Bankston, or perhaps Banksten, on the handout at the funeral service. His wife, Joyce, had passed away on October 29th. They had three children, Johnny Lee, an attorney in Harrison, Sam, teaches at one of the colleges in Conway Ar. and their daughter Debbie Sandefur is a nurse. A very nice family. They have had a rough time the last two Months losing both parents.
best regards,
Betty

Hello,
I never received a reply to my inquiry about the Greggs name. I can give you an email address for Liz Anne McElhaney, her mother Betty is the one that told me Bankston Hoppis info. Since I can't find any records on Ancestry.com for those names, it could very well be that Greggs is the correct maiden name. Liz's email is:
lamlobo@aol.com
You can get her mother's email address from Liz, I don't seem to have it.

Julian/Julius J. Staponski -- Julius A. Staponski
Hi Jim,

Did you get the message I "think" I sent about Julian/Julius Staponski thanking you for letting me know I made the incorrect link??? I had it written, but maybe I didn't get it left on your Find A Grave.com wall???

The link has been changed to Julian J. Staponski, for now. Maybe someone will come forward and confirm that link or refute it because I took your comment as a "guess." Forgive me if your suggestion was not a guess and is, in fact, correct. The marriage record shows Julius Staponski, but his name could have been entered incorrectly.

With both men born in 1901, so this could get real confusing!!! If you know these men's parents, please share. That will help me keep them properly separated, correctly linked and eliminate any future confusion!!!

Thanks, again for your help.
Pam
