My name is Vickie. I grew up in Swannanoa, N.C. and now I live in Asheville. I enjoy researching family history and walking through cemeteries to read stones. Everyone deserves to be remembered. Someone somewhere loved them. Thanks to the great contributors here at Find a Grave, I have been able to see the graves of many family members that I would have never seen if it wasn't for their generosity. It is so nice to be able to visit a loved one's grave and not even leave the house.|
If any of my memorials contain errors, or if you have information to add, please send me a message or an edit. All memorials are done with the utmost respect of those who have passed on and those of us left behind.

When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.
I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.
We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.
Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.

Thanks for your efforts. He is buried in Georgia. Photo of monument posted. Family hopes to move to Arlington in the future.
|Jeff Lovelace||RE: Memorial|
Up until recent days, this memorial didn't exist and the one for the children was all rolled up into one memorial. I only had Infant Jays when I visited this cemetery a couple of years ago. When I learned their names I made one for each of the children. This was a great deal of work, but it was well worth it to me. These children deserve to be remembered and honored. I spent most of the morning writing the Bio for Jay and even though I have seen many tragedies before, this one got to me.
Thanks again for visiting these memorials.

|G. Roth||Incorrect Sibling Relationship|
I was just browsing Find A Grave, searching for relatives I hadn't found yet, and stumbled across the entry for my Great Aunt Catherine (Memorial # 153831459). In her list of siblings, Helen Virginia Coon Cook (#143920455), my grandmother, is listed as being her half-sibling, but they were, in fact, full sisters. I've stumbled across Memaw being listed as a half-sibling in other places, probably due to the fact that she was born so much later than her brothers and sisters and because her mother remarried after her husband died. My great-grandmother and her second husband never had any children together.
I would absolutely love it if I could maintain Aunt Catherine's memorial, along with Uncle Joe's (her husband, Robert Joezell Cline, #153831424). If you'd rather not transfer maintenance of the memorials, that's OK, but would you update Aunt Catherine's to reflect that Helen was not a half-sibling?
