 | RE: Edgar Clayton Scofield Lucy, My sincerest condolences for the loss of your father. I know this is a difficult time for your family, especially the holidays.
The picture of the other stone I mentioned is not worth uploading. The stone had a large clump of grass clippings on it which blocked most of the writing. The readable sections of the name are "To...ay Sc...eld" and the dates "...13, 1892" and "...1954". Sorry I could not be of more help to you. | | | C.Troillett
 | RE: Edgar Clayton Scofield When you manage a memorial page, you have the ability to update the material, connect the page with parents and spouse, etc. If you are the person who uploads the material to Find A Grave, you are automatically listed as manager of the specific page. When a page is transfered, the original person is listed along with the date the material was first uploaded to the site, but that person no longer has the ability to change anything. For instance, as a non-manager of a site I could sponsor the site to remove the advertisements ($5), upload pictures, and provide a flower memorial to the Find A Grave site, but if a change needs to be made, I would have to send the suggestion to the person actually managing the site. It would be up to that person whether or not to make the suggested change. Since Mr. Scofield is your grandfather, it only makes sense for you to manage his memorial page. It is very easy to do; just let me know if this is something you want to do right now. | | | C.Troillett
 | RE: Edgar Clayton Scofield Lucy, Would you like me to transfer management of this memorial page? I took the picture of the gravestone behind your grandfather's and captured both, so posted it. Sometimes things we view as "chance" turn out to be important. There was one other marker from your plot, but couldn't make out the dates. Will check it again. It was next to Mr. Scofield's marker. | | | C.Troillett

 | RE: Scofields in Davidson College Cemetery You are so welcome! Yes, I photographed all of the stones in Davidson College Cemetery. Any that I may have missed in translation I believe another volunteer has added by now. You may want to check with the caretaker of the cemetery as there may be unmarked souls in the cemetery. Good luck in your search.

 | RE: Re: R. C. Steiner the records were translated by Frederick Weiser and are in a loose leaf notebook. In the acknowledgements it says the originals are stored for safekeeping at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PAAdded by Barbara on Aug 28, 2009 6:56 AM | | | Barbara
