I began researching my family about 9 years ago. All of my great grandparents came to the United States from the Netherlands. The family names I have been researching are: Pruis, Klunder, Kloostra, Vander Ploeg, also Timmer, Kloosterhuis, Demaar, and Bomers (Boomers).
I have also started to expanded my research to include some of my husband's family. His family names include: Steere, McConkie, Porter, Perkins and Ford. The majority of his ancestors' memorials have been created by others already.
I am focusing mainly on family, however, when visiting a cemeteries I sometimes snap extra pictures to post. If I should happen to create a memorial for someone in your family feel free to request a transfer thru the edit tab. I will gladly transfer if the person is not part of our family.
Thank you everyone for your diligence.

Dutch records
Julie, My husband speaks, reads and writes Dutch from growing up in the Netherlands and thinks everything Dutch is next to God and holiness. If you ever need Dutch records translated, just send me an email. :) BTW, I fly my Frisian flag almost every day to let my neighbors know the queen is in residence.

I'm all set with requests though. The people in my family or people I'd be looking for aren't buried anywhere near Muskegon or Michigan period. thanks though.

transferred to you. you're more closely related than me so it belongs to you.
I am local. I tend to find cemetaries by accident. i love the history in places like that and I like to think I help people to be remembered in hopes that someone passes my grave one day and stops a second to wonder who I was. I cover mostly Kent Co., but venture to Ottawa once in a while. I just love the old cemetaries with big stones. They have such character and they almost give you the family tree on them.
