Bio and Links
Bio Photo Photos that I have taken may be copied freely for personal use. I do kindly ask that you keep the credit intact, and not upload them to Ancestry or other sites as your own photo work. I am related to almost all of the memorials I have added and/or manage. Unless I am directly related or there is a special relationship, I am happy to transfer memorials to other family members.

Many memorials on Ancestry and Find-a-Grave reflect my previous username, DOGLOVER, which I changed to INDIANATURTLE in 2013.

Edit requests for my own family memorials that link to UB's (unknown burial location) will be declined. I will be pleased to link when a confirmed and/or documented burial location is found.

I agree that the tombstone is quite weathered. The date of death and transcription on her memorial is from the Indian Prairie cemetery records.

I did find the 1880 Census record that you spoke about. It lists her as being 4 years old.

I could not find any mention of her death in the local newspapers and it was not in the Death Index for Sullivan County, Indiana.

It may be possible that the cemetery records are in error but I can not tell from the picture. Do you think that it is possible that the 1898 is actually 1893?

I am wondering if you would transfer these to me. They are my 2nd Great-Grandparents through my mother's side. She was Thelma Mae McKee Closser McDaniel. So, I'm reading that you are related to most of those you post. Are we related somehow? Thanks for your consideration and any information. Georgi McDaniel Coldren

RE: Elbridge, Perlina and Dayton Hungerford
Denica has done good work but she has created a number of BUs. We have established a Hungerford association (tax exempt) and are building a website containing a database that now has more than 42,000 Hungerford and associated surnames (through marriage, for example, the spouses' surnames are included). We have an ambitious agenda of capturing all Hungerfords world-wide in the database (constantly growing as more Hungerfords are born). The formal name of the organization is The Hungerford Family Foundation, Inc.

Anyway, I bumped into both the Dayton and Perlina memorials and got pretty confused until I noticed that Denica's were BUs from some years ago. Her memorials have much better information, so I'm hoping that Find A Grave merges them rather than simply deleting them. I've captured all of the information that she wrote, however, for inclusion in our database.

Elbridge, Perlina and Dayton Hungerford
I just checked the links and found that you accepted the links to the correct memorials (omitting the links to the BUs). I notice in your profile that most of your memorials are for folks with whom you are related. These Hungerfords are distant relatives of mine and if they are also your relatives, then you and I would be cousins.

RE: Elbridge, Dayton & Perlina Hungerford
Yes, I sent you edits for the links to Perlina and Dayton because those memorials are illegal BU memorials. I gave you the links to the legal memorials so that the links won't be broken when Find A Grave deletes those memorials (or perhaps merge them into the memorials at Moscow Cemetery. I have alerted Find A Grave to the BU memorials calling their attention to the violation of Find A Grave rules and requesting the mergers and/or deletions of those memorials. I will resend you the family link edit requests per your note.

RE: Cora, Jacob & Emmeline Van Deusen
Found the documentation for 1903. No exact date / location given. An ancestry member has Adelber's family bible with all the names / death dates in it. They scanned it and shared online. It does show Emeline passing in 1903. All other listed dates match the death records - and Jacob is listed in 1901.

RE: Cora, Jacob & Emmeline Van Deusen
I took the 1903 death date form several other Ancestry members' trees. In looking at their trees, I found none with a linked documentation. One showed the death in Salem, Oregon - others in Michigan.

However, after your message I went to try and find documentation. I located a series of newspaper postings related to a court action in Jackson County, Michigan. It is a petition to the court from Adelbert Van Deusen related to the estate of Emeline Van Deusen. The series first starts April 17, 1900 and is last printed May 1, 1900. The court was to hear / decide the petition May 3rd, 1900. I could not find anything on the outcome.

My confusion comes in that - if this is Emeline, and Jacob didn't die until 1901, were they divorced? Can't see why the son would be filing on his mother's estate if she was still married to Jacob. If you like, I can email a pdf copy to you.

RE: Thomas Simpson
I have sent an email to the owner of the other memorial. I have also put Mr. Simpson in the graveyard he was interred in. Thanks so much for your help! I don't want these brave men to be forgotten, and find a grave is a good way to remember them!
