Information: Funeral services will be held in the First Baptist Church on North Street Tuesday at 10 a.m. for longtime Taft resident Lavelle Sampley, 77. Mrs. Sampley was born in Weather ford, Texas, on Feb. 14, 1920 and passed away in a Bakersfield hospital on June 1, 1997. She moved to Taft in 1942 and had been a very active member of the First Baptist Church for many years. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for over 30 years and had been employed McMahan's and Oilfield Controls. Mrs. Sampley was a member of the Taft Rebekah Lodge # 343 and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her survivors include her husband, N.L. "Lee" Sampley of Taft; her daughter, Jerry Blankenship of Bakersfield; her sons and their wives, Gene and Charlene Sampley of Silverdale, Wash., and Michael and DeAnn Sampley of Bakersfield; her daughter and her husband, Vickie and Donnie Thurman of Tulare; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Lavelle Sampley was a woman of Compassion, prayer and commitment to God's purpose in her life, especially to those in her family. Lavelle was a strength, joy and inspiration to all that knew her. Her loving spirit and sense of humor will forever be etched in our minds. Her unconditional love and hospitality exemplified the Jesus she love so much and so faithfully served. We are thankful for the joy she has brought us and we look forward to joining her in our eternal home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to "Children to Love," P O Box 9575, Bakersfield, CA 93389. Friends may call at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Monday until 8:30 p.m. to pay their respects.

He also has a wife Frances do you have her informatin and photos. Each sight has a photo and Obt's. Please let me know and I could get both if needed. and any others from taft. I can not get the one clamed b y some one else.
