 | Rebecca McCullough I noticed you have the first wife of Alexander James Gilliland Rebecca McCullough's death date as Jun 29 1837. This would make her 88 years old at her death. The death date for Rebecca McCullough Gilliland is 1766 in Pendleton, Anderson, SC. James Alexander Gilliland married second wife Francis Elizabeth Baird who died 1808 in Red Oak, Brown, OH which makes her age at death 65 years of age. I am still searching for the Rebecca McCullough you have listed to a Gilliland family member.

 | Vesta Emma McElroy Garrett I followed the links and discovered you are Pat Garrett's niece, as I am Vesta's. Many times, as a child, I visited their home in Caddo Mills. The strongest memory is that they didn't have an indoor bathroom. That is the only home I've ever visited that didn't have indoor plumbing. In winter, the chamber pot was very cold during the night. Of course, in daytime we went to the privvy.
Do you have other photos of Vesta and her family that you could scan and share with me?

 | Vesta Emma McElroy Garrett I noticed you had posted a photo of Vesta and Pat Garrett on his memorial and wondered how you are related and if you have other family photos. Mary Ann Parrish my mother was Vesta's sister | | | Dale Gatewood
 | Correction, Memorial # 59388531 On the memorial for Mary A. Gililland Gatewood, you show her death date as Nov 18, 1940. It should be Nov 18, 1904, as on the gravestone. Just a transposed number. I often make that mistake. She was my great grandmother. I am 85 years old and have been interested in family history for 30 years but only recently learned of Find a Grave. I thank you for what you are doing.
Thank you,

 | James Gilleland (1798-1839) I was wondering if James Gilleland is one of your husband's ancestors. He married a Dianna Moore and they traveled from Arkansas to settle on land in Bastrop County, Texas. Dianna is the sister of one of my ancestors. I'm trying to locate where their parents, Nathaniel & Rebecca were buried. Thanks for any assistance. JJ | | | edmining

 | RE: William and Mary Schooley No Im not related at all, in fact I have no ancestors here in the south, just my way of paying it foward.. This is the coolest graveyard..I will continue hunting till I have all I can, or the snakes get me...haha. This has been quite the adventure.. getting into this place. It is really neglected and possibly forgotten about..Would love to get in touch with the family that owns it. | | | Mary Pierotti
 | Adams Cemetery This information was from a visit that I made to the cemetery in 2011. I added an image of the large stone that is left to Ancestry.com last year. The location of the cemetery was graciously given to me by Bob Strock of Ohio who had visited the place a number of years ago. Most of the stones are gone now, and some are used for a sideway at a house nearby.
The location is not exactly in Coatsville. Off E. Friendship Rd., Highland Twn., Chester County, PA. The exact location of the cemetery is on the old 1891 H. Wilson map. In 1891 a survey was done of the graves in the cemetery, but some thoughtless person sold that information from the Chester County Historical Society.
In 1891, 42 graves could be located with the graves of the slaves plowed under in the adjacent field. Since this is stone #1, it would be likely an Adams stone. It is very possible that this is Joseph Adams' stone. The cemetery was given to the Adams, Morrison, Copeland, and Rankin families by James Gilliland on April 27, 1797. ---Mary Pierotti mpierotti@verizon.net
