Well hello there. I am so glad you could drop in and welcome. This page is dedicated to my Daddy and my son, Mike. On my Daddy side---CARTER, COX, CARDWELL, and HAWK families. And as Daddy stated one time, whatever else you shake out of the trees. I have been working on my Daddy side for over 30 years. Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the peoples who treat you right, also for the ones who don't,(pray for thoses) and believe that everything happens for a reason (ROMANS 8:28). If you get a chance, take it. It can change your life, let it.(JOHN 3:16)
For all who has left messages, flowers, notes, etc. for my son, Mike, it has not gone unnotice. My precious friends, I thank you for remembering my son this way. You all are in my thought and prayers forever. I love you for this kindness.

 | M.L. Carter Hi Pat I have a comment about a headstone for M.L. Carter.A link lead me to his headstone and the link was for Marcus Lafette Carter.I dont believe that headstone is for Marcus Lafette Carter. The link was for people buried in Old Serepta Cemetary. He is my great grandfather and I have found 1930 cencus records showinf him still alive.I would like to believe that may be the grave of his late wife(my great grandmother) because she is the missing link in my research.I cant even find her name.Thank you for the hard work you do here. Just wondering if you're still active? I've sent several corrections to you by the "Edit Tab" on each memorial back a couple of months ago & they haven't been corrected.

Hello Pat, I was wondering if you've been able to visit the Mount Paron Cemetery for me in search of my great grandparents, Oliver Asberry Kelley (or Asbury) and his wife Catherine (Katherine) Holloway Kelley. I have an old letter from the 1960s to my dad from his sister stating that they are buried there. Also, can you tell me if there might be an office or someone who manages the cemetery that might be able to confirm they are located there? I'd be happy to call and find out any information that might help you. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, Thank you so much, Peggy K. Mack
Also, I tried to contact you through email using the one here on Findagrave and it came back "nondeliverable".Added by PKA Mack on Apr 28, 2012 6:56 AM | | | PKA Mack
 | The Kelley family Hello Pat, My heart went out to you as I read of your son's passing. My side of the Kelley family lived in and around Claiborne Parish. Today I discovered that my great grandfather, Oliver Asberry Kelley and his wife Catherine Kelley are buried in Mt. Paran Cemetery. I was able to locate a map which will help my family keep that information. I am so hoping that you could take a photo of their headstone and also, their daughter, Lena Kelley. From what I learned today, she passed away at age 16. Please contact me as soon as possible. I am collecting information for cousins to share with their children and grandchildren. I am a member here at findagrave. You can contact me at: twoshadesofblue2004@yahoo.com Thanks so much for all your help in helping us find our loved ones in Claiborne County. I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. and haven't been to LA since my mother's passing in 1996. PegAdded by PKA Mack on Mar 09, 2012 12:38 PM | | | Avon Schwab

 | Green S. Carter I am doing genealogy research on the family of John Wesley Carter. He lived in Rutherford County, Tennessee, in the 1800s and had eighteen children. My husband's family is descended through the oldest, Sarah, who was born in the 1830s. She had a much-younger half-brother Green S. Carter who was born in 1879. I am trying to confirm (or refute) that the Green S. Carter buried at Colmesneil Cemetery is John Wesley's son. Green married Sallie Singleton in 1901. It appears that he lived in Tennessee until the 1920s when he moved to Texas. His children were William, Mary, Fannie, and Alice. The tombstone for the Green S. Carter in Texas has 1869 as his year of birth, but it does seem to be the same person. Do you know if this is the same Green S. Carter? Thanks. | | | | [View all messages...] |
