I came to Illinois from the Pacific Northwest in 1986. My husband and I have lived in the Sterling area, residing in rural Hopkins Township, for the past 27 years.|
I've been involved in genealogy for the past 30 years and have enjoyed finding fascinating information on my family lineages. Following the trail back from the west to the east, one begins to realize the perils and hardships our ancestors had to endure to make new lives for themselves. I'd like to think that some of that "pioneer spirit" still lives in us all yet today.
All the best to you and yours from the Heartland!

That is a beautiful picture you added to the Harriet Prigmore memorial, I have a copy of the same one but only the head and neck which was shared with me by the Baileys. Are you descended through the Hydes?

hope you went out before the storm..I livve in Milledgeville and have yet to find the correct "Union Cemetery" the one I found the stones for the Spenser family is not the Union Cemetery persay...I have heard several names for it, I have been to a cemetery on Hitt Rd but not sure it had a name either. will have to go out looking for it again. Oak knoll is a cemetery that needs to be totally added to Find A Grave. but searching for just one or two stones is difficult to do if you dont know where they are intered or the office is closed. or have alot to search. they are very helpful, but i do not like burdening them with lotz of requests. I think they charge for help after so many are requested.
