|Susie Holderfield||RE: J McC A 311 Alexandria National Cemetery, LA|
Sorry for taking awhile to answer you on this. I do think that I know who this unknown soldier is. You can go to my site and scroll down to James McClain's section. I have included there everything that I have found about the burial of the person in A 311. I don't think that getting his full pension records would show me anything. I am still hoping to find something more. But what I have is convincing...to me anyway.
Yes, I would like the photo of the unknown A 311. I am not sure that Find A Grave wants photos of unknown stones to be put up on the site.
Here is the page where you will find the section for James.
And here is my email address if you would like to contact me.

I am still researching that :( .. I have not had much luck.. All I have is Carl's
U.S. National Cemetery Interment Control Form which states to researve the spot for his wife's burial in section E 158A. I have not found her date of death.. I know her address at the time of his death was Box#3 Hickory, MS.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get this picture. I'm chasing relatives all over the country and really appreciate all the volunteers.

I have so many of those same stories in my family as well. I hope you find the graves.

I read that there was no marker to photograph in 2008 of you grandparents. If one has since been placed, I will drive out there and take the photos for you. This is quite a drive for me, so please let me know.
