Hello my name is Ted and I live in north central Ct. I become somewhat of a local Civil War historian with my site and book and have been in several newspapers detailing my work. No digital photos here everything is film and will continue to be............

I am new at this Find A Grave requests and photos...I was so relieved a decent photo and history for Lyman Hitchcock was taken and posted. I ran across his grave ( and took digital pics) while trying to fill another photo request. I was distressed that the tombstone is so difficult to read as the other tombstone was placed so close to veteran Hitchcock's. Thank you for this posting, and many of the others i have run across. You do phenomenal work to keep the memory of our veterans alive! We shouldn't forget ANY of them or leave their graves uncared for!

Hi,
In Feburary I am going to Spain for a short holiday, while there we will be visiting the village of Mijas
(Hidden away in a corner of the village, overlooking the wonderful valley leading to the coast, is the hermitage of the ‘Virgen de la Peña'. Built into a rocky outcrop by Mercedarian monks in 1520. Inside is the image of the ‘Virgen de la Peña', the patron Saint of the village. According to the legend, she appeared on this spot on the 2nd of June 1586 to two young shepherds that had been led there by a pigeon. Subsequently an image of the Virgin was found concealed in a recess in the tower where it had been hidden for 500 years. In 1656 work started on the sanctuary cave, which is nowadays always decorated with flowers and pictures as offerings.)
If you give them a donation they will say a mass for you, you just give them a list of names you want prayed for during the mass.
I am having 2 said one for family and friends that have passed and one for living family and friends that need prayers.

Dear Ted, I always try to be in time to place tokens on the memorials I have sponsored for birthdays, Angel Days and other important occasions, though I do not always make it here in time.
