Thank you so very much for taking this photo. I really appreciate it. Would it be possible to add it to my site for fallen hero's? Thank you again, Kay

RE: surko family in New Britain CT
Hi Helen,

I added photos to the four Surko stones that I located in Fairview cemetery. They were all grouped together in Section 29.

I unfortunately don't know anything myself about the Surko family, as I have been photographing Fairview cemetery section by section and don't know very many of the people I have been cataloging. However, my father grew up as a member of St. Matthew's church in New Britain. I had my mother ask him if he remembered the family, and he said that the Surko family that he remembered had sons and not daughters. Next time I see him I can ask if he remembers any names or other details. I can also probably dig up some old church directory books with old photos and if I find anything I can pass it along to you. His mother and father (my grandparents) lived in Kensington CT and lived nearby to a couple that were named Surko. My mom said that the daughter of this couple attends the church now and they see her every Sunday.

That is all that I know, but I can definitely talk with my Dad and get more names/information if you're interested.

Homer Williams
Thank you for your assistance in providing photographs of the grave markers for Homer and Ruby Williams. You posted Ruby's marker twice, but the picture you posted on Homer's site is the marker of Melvin D. Williams. I am sure this was an oversight.

Homer and Ruby were very close friends of my parents and were like second parents to my sisters, brother and me. It is people like you who volunteer to take photographs of grave markers that will truly keep these people in our memories. Thank you again.
